I am now having map function problems with Chrome. Edge still works fine. I logged into my Windows 10 laptop and all map functions work fine in all browsers. This is related to Geocaching on my Windows 10 desktop.

I've checked with other Firefox users and they are working just fine. I reloaded Firefox and still no change. I'm at the end of my rope on this.

Starting this afternoon, I can no longer get Geocaching.com Map on the cache page to function in Firefox. It still works fine in Chrome and Microsoft Edge. I cleared out cache data but am running out of things to try. Any help would be appreciated.

Yippee! My notifications are coming through. Thanks Moun10Bike for the update.

I went into Settings and found my regular Gmail account validated and Primary. Two other email accounts are validated. I've tried to send PQ's to my backup email accounts and still nothing appears. It's as though my email accounts are no longer available.
-
I tried to output a notification and PQ to another email address. It simply disappears. I have checked in the SPAM folders of each and nothing appears. Last night, I received 15 notifications and I deleted them. Everything worked perfectly. I don't know how to check to see how an account is validated.
-
I thought my output problem was related to PQ's. I submitted five and all indicators showed they ran successfully but the account never received the output. In fact, all logging activities on my caches and any I had watches on are no longer appearing in my email account. For example, I tried to report a Needs Maintenance and nothing is sent to my gmail account. I can send simple messages from another email account and they appear just fine. This is mystifying and I have run out of solutions.

I deleted a bunch of single line messages from the message center on Geocaching.com. How long does it take to have them removed from the App's message center?
-
It has been fixed not only on my Android phone, but in Geocaching.com where I normally use the message center. One down, two to go.
Thanks so much for letting me know.

Because I have an "Apostrophe" in my name, I cannot look at my caches found without getting an Error 500. I wonder if this is the reason I get the cache page instead of the App every time I click on the email or text notifications for new caches. Another problem I have is the message center. If I hit the Enter/CR, the message is sent instead of advancing a line. The "Press Enter to Send" box is unchecked. For each problem, I have submitted a bug report with the Groundspeak Help Center.. They have acknowledged the problems and a serial number has been assigned. I have Forum threads for the Error 500 and message center problems.

When cklicking on the email notification, I do not get the App. Same goes for a text notification of caches. Both go right in the cache page.

There were occasions when symbols or spaces in cacher names caused the server to throw up all over the place. But thuis thing where one column of caches in a profile works fine and another column fails, with the same HTML format for the cacher name, that's baffling.
This Forum does something to your cacher name when I first edit a Quote. It turns the apostrophe into the ASCII HTML code. Looks fine after saving. I'll probably make a post about the effect anyway. These little glitches have a way of becoming bigger problems later.
Anything you do is much appreciated.

I filed a problem report on April 24th with the Support Team at Groundspeak.

Kunarion,
15 hours ago, kunarion said:I get the same thing on any category of your found caches (yet not on the ones you've hidden). "Error 500", which is slightly worse than the new view that usually comes up.
I tried some randomly selected other profiles, and they all work fine. I wonder if it's due to the apostrophe in a cache name. Other symbols or spaces don't seem to do it. But here's another profile with an apostrophe in the user name, as an example: https://forums.geocaching.com/GC/index.php?/profile/6587567-belanna/
Same issue.

You are absolutely right. I clicked on the link and get the Error 500 message. I've had my userid since December 2004. It just started happening yesterday morning. How do I proceed to get this fixed? There are many who look at my found caches. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. There are two other problems I've encountered since Apr 12 and have. submitted detall. What is happening at Groundspeak?

Hugh,
Clear an app's default settings
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- Tap Apps & notifications.
- Tap the app that you no longer want to be the default. If you don't see it, first tap See all apps or App info.
- Tap Advanced Open by default Clear defaults. If you don't see "Advanced," tap Open by default Clear defaults.
I'm concerned that following the procedure will impact the process of starting a WhereYouGo from the Geocaching App.

Hugh,
Thanks for sending the link. I have good news but I can't explain it. I successfully downloaded several Wherigos from the Geocaching App rather than the Cache pages. When doing it from the cache page, I get the Wherigo cartridge page. When I download and open using Pocket PC, it gives my the GPX screen without any useful options.

It sounds like you're trying to open the gwc with c:geo. Try opening the cartridge through the WhereYouGo app instead.
No, I have not used c:geo in years. I have always used WhereYouGo. My recent upgrade on April 14th is causing the problem. The black screen and messages starting with "Import GPX to list" is new. I don't understand what GPX has to do with a .gwc file.
-
I have not posted on this thread because WhereYouGo has worked for me for a couple of years. Prior to that, I had download problems which caused me to create a set of instruction to store the .gwc from the Wherigo program onto my desktop and then copy the file to the \phone\Android\data\menion.android.whereyougo\files directory . On April 14th, I upgraded the WhereYouGo with the latest release. Now, the app doesn't function correctly.
1) When clicking on the cache page cartridge link, I get a Download(size in MB) and the name of the .gwc. at the bottom of the screen.
2) I click on the DOWNLOAD button and get Download completed (size in Mb) and the name of the .gwc underneath.
3) When I click on the OPEN button, a screen comes up with the following:
Import GPX to list
<Create new list>
Stored 0]
The name I assigned when clicking on <Create new list [0]
When clicking on the assigned name or Stored [0] options, I receive
Import failed,
Can't read file
Unexpected record signature
0x41430A02
If anyone is following this thread, I'd appreciate your help. For the time being I will use the work around.

This seems like the correct topic to address my problem. I use Gmail to receive Geocaching notifications as well as getting text notifications for new caches on my phone. Recently, I went through updates for Gmail, my browsers, and the Geocaching App on my android phone. Prior to the updates, all I needed to do in Gmail was click on the new geocache publication link and I was directed to the Geocaching App. For new caches appearing in my Text messages, I would click on the http://coord.info/cachename. What happens now in Gmail and Text is the Cache page comes up. I used to scroll down the Geocaching App to [Open In Browser] to open the cache page. I can get around and do things by enlarging the page to click on functions but not everything. One thing I cannot do is [Add to a List]. The list disappears when I try to scroll down. There is not enough room to click on the expanded list. All this is very frustrating. I'm hoping for some answers.

Geocaching.com Maps does not work in Firefox

I decided to take down Malwarebytes and Windows Defender and the maps came up fine in Firefox but not in Chrome. I restarted the software and I can now bring up maps in FIrefox but not in Chrome which is my secondary browser. It just needed a kick in the butt I guess.
