Congratulations. I fondly recall finding a self-proclaimed "evil" cache for my 666th find. It was a difficult "hidden in plain sight" camouflage cache. I loved it, but knowing that it was an "evil" hide allowed me to ignore all the "usual" places and focus my search on more devious possibilities.
This one was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. It was a log in a piece of duct tape attached to a wire that slid down a suuuper tiny little space in between two pieces of wood at an information sign. I don’t even know how I spotted it

Haha wow! Just hit my 500th find! WOOTWOOT! Also made my 500th by finding the most devilishly evil cache EVER!! I’m so happy!!

400! ?????
You're on fire. Keep it up Spudyr! That was a fast jump from 300.
Dumb thought: Being a bit of a geek, at first I read that as 400 factorial, which is 6.403 x 10^868
With 22 million or so seconds in your life, that is still over a googol geocaches per second your entire life. Impressive.Woah! That’s so cool that you thought of that! That is really awesome!

Thanks to frigidfractal, one of our local reviewers! They always ensure that every geocache is at its finest and doesnt break any rule... without them who knows what some of the caches around where i live would look like . Frigidfractal has really helped understand the geocaching guidelines as well... my ideas can be a bit ambitious sometimes. Thanks to them for publishing all the amazing caches around this area! Thanks to all the reviwers actually, what you do for the community is immeasurable!

Just a quick question... I have gone on some geocachers pages and some of their stats say “biggest geofrenzy in one day”. The numbers from that and from their “most caches in one day” are different and usually the geofrenzy finds are higher... I’m not quite sure what this whole thing is, so could someone please explain? I haven’t found anything on the web explaining it. Thanks!

I had to look up Biltema Angel caches as I had never heard this term before. Heres a brief explanation:
"What are Biltema Angel Caches?
More and more often one reads that a geocache is a biltema cache. But what exactly is a Biltema Cache? The Biltema Caches, which are also called fishing caches or Sweden caches, are geoaches that hang at a certain height. Often these boxes are mounted higher than 5 meters or even at a height of 10 meters. These can be taken down with a fishing rod...
...These hinges are several conical, extendable rods which can be extended to a length of up to 15 meters. A hook or magnet is then attached to the tip of such a fishing rod in order to fish the can at this height.

Woah! That’s interesting... thanks for finding out what it was!

Or another thought...why would someone NEVER give a favorite, despite having found thousands of caches? Surely some of them must have been worthy.
I agree! How could you go past a cache that someone has put HOURS into and not appreciate it? Maybe I should word this differently but I definitely agree with you!

The beauty of this activity is you can put it down and pick it up any time you'd like. For the past couple of years I've focused on maintaining my caches. Just last week I found my first cache in over a year. My intention was to grab a single cache in an area I frequent often. Wound up traveling to a location close by and grabbing three more. If I hadn't had things to do at home I'd probably still be out there. It was nice to still get that same feeling after all that time.
Right, it’s not like an urgent and stressful activity... that’s why I really like it! I’m trying to get 365 caches this year though so I can say that I got one cache everyday for a year! So maybe I’ve got a little stress but it’s definitely a type of stress that I like

1. I'm not asked to give it a favorite point.
2. I enjoyed the experience of finding the cache or solving a puzzle.
3. I was brought to a great place.
I DEFINITELY agree with you on the first one, one time when I found a cache, I was even asked in messages by the CO if I could favourite it... I don’t know what to think about that...

I just wanted to know what a favourite point deserving cache looks and functions like in all of your opinions!

Now you've done it. You've passed the point of no return. 300 is a great milestone. Wait till you see what the next 300 will bring.
Haha... I hope to make it to the next 300! And yes... I’m starting to wonder if I’ll do this for the rest of my life... that would be a nice life!

My new published cache has had some activity, but most people in the area haven’t seen it yet because it didn’t show up on the “newest caches” tab on the website... I’ve never really seen the website glitch or have a bug before but do things like this happen?

I am VERY new to this forum... and already I’ve seen some arguments and had some people almost argue with me... maybe I should go to the Canada section... I LIVE in Canada anyway...

Not sure if we’re doing international acronyms here, but “mplc” really confused me when I looked at caches in France... it means “merci pour la cache” so the equivalent of TFTC... the more ya know!

I’m not sure if we’re talking about the outside of a cache’s appearance, but I made a “birdhouse” geocache... inside is different than you would expect though! It’s based off of The Secret World of Arrietty, by Studio Ghibli... right now I’m working on a whole series about it (Studio Ghibli), but this one has a mini sort of house inside, and to find the log, you have to find the nano inside of the tiny cupboard! I’ll attach some photos in the cache library for you to see, and I’ll add the link to the cache!
the cache GC94P2D
tell me what you think!
It won’t let me post photos, so you will have to go to the cache page to look at the photo library. There I have attached a photo of the inside of the cache!

You didn't make anyone mad. We're having a discussion and I'm disagreeing with you.
Ok. I dont want to argue about this and i just thought that maybe a little more than tftc on a cache somewhere remote and treacherous would be great.

And I haven't been really trying. I have friends who started about the same time with twice (or more) the find count. It really depends on how obsessed you are and how much you like (and do, once this pandemic eases) road trips.
Ohh yes, I have definitely seen those giant roads with geocaches on them about every metre... I can see them snaking around the outskirts of the map, and after this pandemic eases, I will definitely look forward to completing them! And wow, you havent been really trying? Thats an understatment... 10,000 caches is quite a big number! You need to give yourself more credit!!

Congratulations and welcome to the obsession! I can remember back when we started how exciting it was to hit x00 milestones (now it's x000 but I have 20 years on you). It did seem I'd get close to 10K finds back then, but keep plugging away and have fun.
wow, almost 10,000 finds?! Thats amazing... and yes, I'm already obsessed! I'll definitely have fun with this and hopefully one day i'll be able to hit that monumental milestone

Just got my 300th cache... and i am new to almost the whole website! I'm really happy and did not even once think that I would be able to make it to this milestone. I've had so many fun adventures and made so many fun friends, and I hope that I will be able to geocache for a long time... maybe one day i'll even hit 20,000 geocaches! (I doubt it, but one can only hope!). I guess this is a hello... and a celebration? I have no idea but I would love to say thank you to everyone - people close to me, people far away from me - people on the other side of the continent... thank you so much for making this such an amazing and supportive community, and I hope I have many other fun geocaching experiences to come. Thank you everyone!
