  1. OK - here is a hint - I have already started logging some of my finds.

Hope someone figures out these numbers soon as we have dozen of dozens of caches still to log.

  2. #2 141 caches

any hints yet??? No on second thought don't post any hints until just before I can post again

Sorry no hints but will allow one guess every 30 minutes and hope all questions will be answered before noon tomorrow

  3. We had a week off from work last week but the kids were still in school so what to do? Well we can go find some geocaches. This is a quick cointest about our recent Geocachion or is it Geocation - our geocaching vacation. (if the term geocachion/geocation takes off we would like credit)

Winner will receive an unactivated geocoin. We wanted to find at least one cache each day from the end of work on May 19th until the end of the day on Memorial day May 28th. Our other goal was to get find #5000 during this vacation.

Four questions about our week off.

    1. How many geocaches did we find total? From 1 pm on May 19th to midnight May 28th.

    2. How many caches did we find on our busiest day?

    3. We found our 5000th cache this last week. How far was it from our home?

    7.4 miles - Correct GATOULIS

    4. What was the difficulty/terrain combination for our 5000th find?

    1.5/1.5 Correct - thesmurfinator

Hint - we already started logging some of our finds.

A random winner will be picked from the 4 cointestants that correctly answer the above questions.

Cointest will be until noon Monday June 4th or when all questions are correctly answered.

Please only 1 guess per hour. Guess the answer to only 1 question at a time. Example Question #3 - Answer 0.0 miles

  4. Question 1 244 caches

    Question 2 14

    Question 3 8.6

Team Pixos - thanks for playing none of these are correct but please only answer one of the questions.

Keep guessing people. We need to log these caches.

  6. Q4 - 1.5/1.5

    thanks for the cointest :)

Boy - 81 choices and smurfinator gets it on the first guess. Yes the cache was rated 1.5/1.5. We felt it should be higher after a 1 mile hike in on a 95 degree Florida day.

  8. If you go trick-or-treating on Halloween check the neighborhood ahead of time as a lot of communities are gated and only allow access to residents and guests.

are these to make free Marie? because.. by this... maybe our friend Keewee will probably make some nice and very cheap trade items to put in caches! ;)

Gatoulis - I think your question was to the next post - they are called smashed pennies or pressed pennies - usually you put in 2 or 3 quarters and a penny and the penny is flattened in a press with a print on the penny. My youngest son collects these. Google smashed pennies to get an idea.

Suggestion - weather patterns can change quickly in the fall in some areas so a change of clothes is not a bad idea - can leave in the car or in a backpack if you get wet or need a hacket or sweater in coldre air-conditioning. Also it is good to have a change of clothes if you go on any water rides.

  9. Don't know if anyone has suggested this. Bring a backpack to the theme parks. Most allow backpacks but will be searched when you enter park. You can carry sunscreen, drinks (water bottles), snacks. This can save a lot of money compared to buying at the theme parks. They should have lockers so you can store your pack if you don't want to carry it but lockers can cost $10.

  10. Check the weather daily. It is very common to get some afternoon showers. They usually don't lst very long but can be a serious downpour. Someone suggested the plastic ponchos - they can be purchased in the amusement parks for about $10 or at Dollar Tree or other discount stores for about $1.

  11. Visit Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, southwest of Orlando. Very nice large garden. If you find four caches from the TrekTenTrails program in Polk county admission is free. TrekTenTrails is a great program in Polk county (next county west of Orlando) introducing people to geocaching and the parks in the county. Great tours of the parks and they have been doing it for 4 years.
