While I was in CA for GW6, I received the Night Hunter, Grodan & Fiabus, a Smort Nerd, and a Highland Geofairy. On Friday I got the BRoKeN W dinosaur and a matching pin and the Toojin & Bart that I traded for at GW. Saturday's mailbox contained the Dala Horses and the World Caching from Castleman. And today I got a Nerd from the Woodland Clan and I got an envelope addressed to me and from me and inside was Geocoin Angel Mystery Coin #079!

Looking for an inexpensive geo-coin/bug that is trackable.. doesn't need to be anything complicated or expensive.. just a simple coin or item that can be used for the purpose..
new to geocaching.. have seen a number of online companies who sell very nice/colorful coins but they are somewhat expensive for the purpose..
any suggestions???
thanks!
Scott
Castle coins and pins sells Cacher Geocoins which are micro coins that are trackable, they are pretty, they are cheap, and the have a hole so you can attach them to stuff. They make great travelers.
There a couple different colors available for purchase in the webstore.

I think it was the GW6 coin and isnt it sure a beauty Bev?It took me awhile to sort through and photograph them all, but here is my coin haul from GWVI!!
What is the name of that suncatcher coin with the people holding hands and says sometimes its just who you are with?
sweetlife
I am not sure of their names, but the suncatcher of the people holding hands and the one below it were both from Oakcoins. I don't think they say GWVI, but they were available for sale at the event.

I got home from GWVI and found an unexpected mailer with the cutest owl inside!! Thank you so much Sean, they really turned out beautifully!
-
Wow! Both you guys came home with quite the haul! I am green with envy!
OK, what are the bent Lava Lamp coins and the Star coin - both on the left side of this picture?
CF30
The lava lamps were a GWVI coin from Oak. They had them in 3 colors and I am pretty sure the lava is glow i the dark.
The star coin, I don't know the official name for but it says Holiday Shindig 2005 on the back of the coin. I got it from The Moop Along so maybe he knows more about it than I do.

ok, I've got another question...
I've read several cachers mentioning finding mystery coins in caches.
If they are not trackable, how does one know they are in a cache?
Is it something found by pure dumb luck? does the mystery person leave a log stating it has been placed in a cache?
ok, so I had a few questions...
Sometimes the mystery coiners log a find on a cache and mention that they dropped a coin there, and other times it is just luck that you happen to find a mystery coin in a cache.

I have to earn my wings. Keep an eye open for me and you may find something special left behind.

I've emailed back a couple of you who did not receive your invoices, check your emails again
I got a nice surprise from the mint last night. I had been waiting on my pictures of the GW6 turtle (nontrackable/trade only at GW6...unless I come back with some), and I was told they were actually ready and they have shipped to me! I should be bringing them with me, OH YEAH! Here's a pic of the front, I thought they turned out great! Antique copper with browns/tans.
Its beautiful!! :)

There is also one called Coexist

Congrats to everyone who has received one of these sweet little coins! Every time I see one, I get reminded of the diving trips I took in Florida and the Galapagos! Such fun!
-
Nice idea, I can't wait to see how they come out!
Just a question, how will they stay together? Will they be magnetic or something similar to hold them together, or will the smaller coins just sit inside the larger ones?

You can find many different animal carvings on ebay. Do a search for "Alebrije" or "Oaxaca Wood Carving" and you will get some hits. Oaxaca is the region in Mexico where these are made, and they are all hand carved and painted. They come in many different animal shapes and they are very beautiful.
To keep on topic to the thread, I would love to see a Oaxacan-inspired coin, either this one or another coin as the artistry and detail in these carvings is just beautiful.
