There's one I'm working that the cO posted corrected coodants for it. The original ones bounced around so much that it would put you inside a grocery store. Here's the link if you would like a peek: http://coord.info/GC1JWCH
At it again? You have to get out of downtown, really... Glad to see you are chasing some toughies after that other one... Remember the advice though...

actually Doug, There's an easier one I'm working that's almost 14 miles away! I do appreciate the help & support. BTW,I LOVE THE TRUCK!

I would agree with Sol in post #9. I would suggest waiting until you're comfortable with knowing enough different kinds of hides to do one decent, but remembering that you're probably not going to have a "be all end all" hide on the first one.

How did everyone do today? I got 1 of 3 I went for.

Had no choice. My mother gave it to me when I was a baby and the legal hassles and expense did not seem worth it to change.
funny about that. same here. Not that there aren't a few other names others have given me!

slower than molasses in Massachusetts in January this morning (up till when I left @ noon MDT), but much better now!

could this also be used as a way to expose geocaching to the police, so that they know what's going on with us (as a group)? that way, if word gets out about the hobby, the cops won't automatically think the worst, & be able to explain to others about it.
-
I would go with hobby, even though it could be said it is competitive in that you're matching wits with the hider

Well, I can now say that it is still there, because I found it! now I can concentrate on the other 4 I have loaded on my GPS!

I wouldn't call the cache lame, but will say I was kinda disappointed in the container for this one:
-
yeah, I've read the page. Yes, I could've missed something. Probabally did.
-
I've got it on my watch list, for that very reason you mention. I was hoping that by seeing other postings (hopefully finds), then I could pinpoint the exact location.
-
first off, thanks for the info & encouragement. As to some of your thoughts Doug, the cache can be found @ GC244ZB. Yeah, it's a little outta the normal "comfort zone" of a newbie like me, but I'm a glutton for punishment (plus, it's 392 feet from my house). I'm somewhat frustrated, but I'm the kinda person who once I get started on something, I'll lose interest quickly or keep going till I find it to the point of tunnel vision. Thanks again for the help.

OK, I've been working on a nano & am beginning to wonder if it's "grown legs & walked away". 3 people have had a DNF on it. I talked to a guy who found it, & got an idea as to where to look, & couldn;t find it. I sent an email to the CO to have him check n it, but was wondering if there was a way to have someone else check on it.

I can see leaving them, so that something can be learned from it.

In the field, I usually use the lanyard to hang the GPS to my suspenders (via larkshead knot), & was wanting to find something to get the stuff to the hotel when I'm traveling out of town, so I can get coordinates @ the hotel.
-
OK, I know this will seem kinda silly, & outta left field, but what, if anything, do you guys use in te ways of a pack or bag to carry your geocache stuff (ie GPS & CORDS)? I'm thinking about getting a small nylon type bag to carry mine in so that I can ave everything in one place.
-
being a noob, I'll put my 2 cents in. It can it being kinda fun if the decorations tie in somehow with the location.
-
Part of my thinking was that "he" could've found a number of them over a period of time & then posted the finds when they got home. Plus, if a series of finds were posted in rapid succession without the logs being signed, it could be shut down earlier. I know it's not very likely, but just playing a bit of devils advocate in cast someone did that & not mention it in the loggings.
-
Just curious, was there any logs signed @ the actual caches? If not, it seems to me that would be a clue that something was up. Not trying to be mean, just trying to find some lesson that can be gotten from this adventure to prevent it from happening again. Or @ least make it easier to spot.

We have found some marvelous micro caches; and what made them marvelous was the location they brought us to see. There are many scenic or historical sites/sights that cannot support a cache larger than a micro. What helps me the most in deciding whether or not to go after a micro is to simply read the cache description page; if it gives me an idea that there is something special about the cache, then we go for it. If you don't bother to do a bit of research before you go out caching you will have some disappointments!
I had one like that in Coffeyville Ks (Dalton's rest stop GC1VH2B). I had been there the ear before I found the cache, but decided to try for it. Great micro find that might disappoint some, but I'm not advanced yet, so it worked. I have had some that was larger & so easy I didn't need my gps. I'm trying to get a micro now that I can't find the exact location for. It depends on advanced you are & your personal tastes.
-
somewhat limited experience , but I've getting (or trying to) quite a few micros. except the radio station one I got.

Anyone else on the grand valley area? I'm a bit of a noob (haven't been able to get out as I'd like until lately), & was wondering if there was any groups (formal or not) that would welcome a strange new person in.
-
Not sure if I've posted this before, but name's Dave & I'm in the grand valley (Palisade to be precise), & not unlike The Finleys, I'm a bit of a noob , even though I have 2 1/2 finds ( got to one, but didn't get to the hardware). Wondering if there was anyone else in the Grand Junction/ Palisade area that might be interested in doing something/

Everyone knows that cachers are geeks, & geeks are antisocial , & therefore are more likely to become a sociopath mass murderer.
