  1. I did the search...read the logs...but cannot find a definitive answer as to which viewer is the best. Can anyone explain in small words why they use which viewer they do? What are the best features?

I was using MobiPocket...the worst thing about it was that you had to go to another page for the hints.

  2. such as they are in EasyGPS. You can use them but until you upgrade to ExpertGPS they'll have 'holes' in them encouraging you to buy the real deal. Since it's a free download give it a shot and try uploading a track file to it after you look for a cache. If you're anything like me you'll be amazed at how far you wandered over the terrain looking for the dang cache.

I'm not sure why someone would get three different programs for maps and waypoint management when ExpertGPS does it all.

I think to promote your sport, perhaps the donations could be used to somehow get the word out to more people! Perhaps someone who knows alot about it could put an ad in some major papers and direct people to the web site ??? Lysa xoxo icon_biggrin.gif

I think I speak for the majority of geocachers when I say we want quality not quantity. Besides I expect posted pictures and a log of your first geocaching expedition using your GPS.

Now I can't update my Vista or download new waypoints. Anyone have any idea how I get these two to behave? Can I move one of them to another com without stepping on another devices toes? I still have my digital camera, webcam and printer to think about.

The PDA, webcam, and digital camera are all USB if that helps.

    Thanks, Faderaven.

  6. Good location for a night vision type cache. People are always in the park after closing - they park in front of the closed gates. No one seems to care. It was the Monmouth Battlefield Video Exchange.

    Hmmm....

  7. I wanna go too!

Unfortunately, I don't have any backpacking gear. Well, I could probably use my tent and a few other things. But I don't have a backpack or sleeping bag that would work. What's the outlay for the bare minimum I would need?
