I once had 2.06b loaded, which always recalculated, even if you aborted the recalc. This was Not Nice , when on vacation... so I reloaded 2.05. Overall, I don't have much problems with beta's. I do provide lots of feedback to gpsvbeta@garmin.com and were asked for more info on various occasions. Changes made from version 4.10 to 4.11: Changed software version number from 4.10 to 4.11. Modified code to improve performance of data transfers to GPS unit. Fixed several defects associated with the handling of Asian characters. Fixed problem where hovering over the print icon did not show a tooltip. Fixed bug where route headings were being exported incorrectly. Fixed bug where scrollbar on the real time tracking page was not always displayed when it should have been. Modified creation of the waypoint description so that it used the name of the nearest feature, if any, or a date/time stamp if no feature name is available. MapSource 4.10 always inserted an English language data/time stamp in this field. I noticed two: - I got extra turn screens when crossing a mpa boundary (e.q. 40 kilomters to the next turn, which is a bit too soon ) - the ETE and ETA times are only shown when moving, not directly after calculating inhome - some translations for the VIA thing not yet present All will be fixed in 2.10 (which I'm currently testing as 2.10beta). ...beacuse 2.09b has a "feature" to popup turn screens while traversing a mapchunk boundary. They privately mailed me 2.10b in which this bug should be solved. Hi all! I have a nice Michelin map op the Gran Canaria island. It even has a lat/lon grid printed on it. Since the GPS V basemap and the Worldmap are quite useless on Gran Canaria, I would like to make my own map. I know MapDekode and Ozi, but to use them I need a good quality scanned map. Since the Michelin map is too larger to fit under my scanner, I need to stitch 4 to 6 scans together. How do I do this? I can operate Paintshop Pro just fine, but either is a small error on the top or on the bottom of the stitching area... Help? -- Robert Elsinga =8-) geocaching (at) elsinga.org

Sorry Stefanne, but you mentioned *my* cache as the example and that new function would make it too easy. =8-) BTW: my GPS V has Proximity Waypoints, which do this job nicely. I also patched my GPS V, in stead of the Warning page, it now displays an ownership/reward page with my address, telephone number and e-mail address.
