  1. Thanks for the heads up , however I doubt we will be able to grab many FTF's as it is back to work for the week for us ! But we shall see , we shall see. Star PS: Where is ISO #76?
  2. Take any advice/help that is offered, but remember to use common sense. When they placed the waypoint to the next stage the water level might have been lower, so that "18 inches of water" might now be closer to "34 inches." Never be afraid to ask for help, we've all been there. Just because I'm fluent in Klingon or elven tongues doesn't mean you are, and someone might know where you can learn enough to read the cache page. If in doubt, look before you touch. That fuzzy tail you find MIGHT have an owner, and he'll be kinda ticked if you tug on it. Libraries are a great resource. They have books you can use to understand clues, people who might be familiar with local history and historical sites and they're a great place to get emergency access to cache listings. If you downloaded the cache page 2 days ago, you might not have seen that the cache was disabled yesterday. If you meet with the local LEOs, remember they're just doing their job and they appreciate it when you tell the truth. Some of us have been questioned, some of us have been warned, but I don't recall anyone being arrested for caching. You never know when might recruit a new cacher. Try not to take anything in the forums personally. Some people just don't know when to walk away from the keyboard. Make sure you've brought everything you need before you need something you forgot. The most important thing being common sense. Don't be surprised if that 1/1 cache you DNF'd after 2 hours is found the next day by a newbie on their first hunt. Just because you've got 800 finds doesn't mean 801 will be any easier. Wulf
  3. Well we know Patrick would not bit anyone , cept maybe you LeadDog .
  4. 2 More ISO caches for Team Tigger and Awsome Ev today . Yeah we slipped a bit this weekend , to much shopping . But on the other hand Awsome Ev managed to place another new cache as well . note: If Patrick bit someone I am sure that someone must have done needed biting !
  5. "I'm going to the casino/bingo." Works everytime coming into Canada. When I go into Detroit, I generally say I'm going to the flea market or the zoo (membership has it's privlege) if asked. I also invested in a NEXUS pass, which lets me use the 'express' lane where they don't generally talk to you at all. I can't stress the importance of answering the question asked. Keep your answer simple, if they want more detail, they will ask. Citzenship? Where are you going? Why? Wulf
  6. We rarely are able to gain a FTF , for the simple reason we both have jobs . Dang jobs always getting in the way ! We have found its nice if we can do it but we aren't gonna sweat it if we can't . We also have a local near Star's area that is always the FTF , sometimes even minutes after it is approved , we to have wondered how this cacher might be doing that ! Star of Team Tigger International
  7. and now he has an alli .... he's placing ISO caches up here ! 2 new ones in my area and the new ones in his area so you were right Buddaman , he was a TRICK ! Star
  8. Nice of you LeadDog and Patrick ! We visited the cache perviously and found it fascinating! Now we have a reason to "find" it again ! We were hoping that it would not fade away ! Star
  9. Thank you Patrick , we are looking forward to the new ISO caches !
  10. We like cemetery caches . We have been to some that we might not have ever found or visited if it weren't for geocaching . Like James Deans Grave . At others we have found some very interesting historical facts like this one in a historical cemetary with these little stories placed about the cemetery about past persons of the area . Take a Seat or this one with a fantastic view : Indiana Spirit Quest #72: Patrick's Waterfall This list could go on and on . If tastefully done cemetery caches can be great adventures . Star
  11. We've put scratch lottery tickets and $10 gift cards in caches. You don't need to spend alot of money, just put in something special. I'd love to find a pair of FRS radios, if we didn't already have 3 pairs (handy if you cache with other teams)<g> Mostly we've found multitools left for FTF. Wulf
  12. WOW , Yay for us ! Today marks our 3 year geocaching anniversary!!! Its been great fun and we hope it never ends !
  13. Because if you hide it ... they will come . We get great pleasure out of seeing just who will venture out to find caches we place , and some of the logs are very funny and entertaining . It is just great fun to see who has visited caches we have created. Star
  14. The Off Topic forum was created for abject sillyness and just about anything else one wants to talk about , But wait , you must be a premium member to have access to that particular forum. I wouldn't however let what goes on in any of the forums keep you from enjoying geocaching to the fullest . One does not need to post anything in the forums to enjoy the game . As for reading the thread , maybe we all would if you would be so kind as to link it for us . Star of Team Tigger International
  15. We have met many geocachers on the trails to geocaches . Its always nice to meet others that share our madness . Star of Team Tigger International
  16. ok , so then if you have hidden your last cache then we CAN find them all eventually .
  17. Thank you LeaDog and Patrick ! Happy Thanksgiving to you all as well !
  18. Wouldnt suprize me if he isnt plotting more as we speak ! Prolly gonna blame them all on that poor little Patrick to ! Star
  19. Well just a little warning , When you decide to go after the series of Waterfall caches that SixDogTeam has out , well you may want to wait till there is no snow and or ice on the ground , some of the terrain on those is very very steep ! Also make sure you take a buddy with you on those . They are fantastic caches dont get me wrong , the views are well worth the terrain difficultys! We had great fun finding them . See some of our posts for some interesting reading . I think that in the spring we might revisit those waterfalls again so we can see more waterfalling ! Star
  20. Some people are just trying to be helpful when they say that the cords are off . You also have to remember that the Cords could very well indeed be off depending on the amount of dense canopy from the trees . Thus the Cords from winter thru summer probably will vary quite a bit . We do not usually say cords are off unless there is a differance of at least 50 ft or more . It never hurts to double check the cords with whatever other cachers are saying that have found the cache . Star of Team Tigger International
  21. I had a little yellow , little yellow was adorable , but it got lost . I also have a GMAP by Garmin it works great and has maping features, Wulf is the one with the 60C he just upgraded . Star of Team Tigger International
  22. The only really cool thing about caching mode is that it logs your finds in the calendar and has a button that selects the nearest unfound cache. It's nice to have the name of the cache displayed too. As for the 'clues' being displayed, near as I can tell, you have to enter them yourself, so I'll just stick to my PDA for that part. Wulf
  23. and on the cache page there is a line you can click to "make this page printer friendly" I go paperless myself , Wulf has provided me with a PDA
