  1. We have revisited a cache to pick up a TB . The TB was left specifically for us to pick up though and help move it on its way . The cacher that had this TB sent us an e-mail and asked if we could help get it to its final destination.

As far as revisiting a cache for the sole purpose of logging every TB we can get our hands on , No we do not tend to do that . That is just not the way we choose to play this game for ourselves.

There are others however in the area that do play this way . One of them is pretty well known cacher . Its the way they choose to play the game.

Best advice We can give you is to do what is best for you ( what you feel is the way YOU want to play) .

  2. CONGRATULATIONS to Rupert2 for reaching 8,000 finds and Che K for reaching 900.

And this thread also hit a milestone: 3,000 replies and 50,000 views....

    Wait a tick...

8,000 finds is a bit high for me. Let's try 700 instead.

    Thanks Lead Dog!

  4. We went GEOCACHING in INDIANA on Saturday !!!

We had 8 finds and 2 DNF's not bad . The PWPark is one of the finest in the state of Indiana and I always loved to have a reason to revisit it .

We even got to meet the Gunpowder Gang , The children were very concerned that we found all the caches that they helped place . It was a pleasure to talk to Mrs and Mr Gunpowder . We even managed to introduce a couple of new people to the sport as well. !

  5. After reading lots of discussion about Virtuals vs Waymarks, still not one person has shown a single way that Virtuals have even a slight advantage over Waymarks.

    The Blue Quasar

Sure they have. Virtuals count as a find <_<<_<

    BINGO!!!

They COUNT and THey give you a really cool new ICON , plus they started on GEOCACHING.COM.

I for one Loved the Virtuals that we have found , its like this some people love every cache they find ( micro or not) wilst others will complain about even a physical ( sorry bout my speeling) , cache with a LogBook.

I vote bring the Virts back !

  6. There is no geocaching event this year but if anyone is interested and looking for something to do, Potawatomi Wildlife Park is holding a Fall Gathering event this Saturday Oct. 14th from 10am to 2PM.

Event includes tour wagon tours of the park, speakers on wildlife rehab, local Potawatomi Indian village history, and saving the American Chestnut, kids activity tent, solar observing and radio telescope demonstration, unveiling of our new "final bout" full body locked bucks taxidermy display (13 & 16 pointers), and canoe ($) and powerparachute rides ($) (weather permitting) and food.

    Entry is free.

I would have liked to have had a geocaching part to the event but at least there are 11 geocaches in and around the park for your enjoyment.

We are thinking of maybe a spring geocaching event.

  7. I have a question for you all .... I was just wondering what everyone considered signifigant milestones ?

There seems to be a growing trend that it is ever 100 caches found . What are your thoughts on the matter ?

*notes I am gonna have a really hard time keeping up with them all , considering all the dear cachers that I feel close enough to to follow *

We thought every hundred was until we got to 500 then we didn't really think to much about it because we were trying to get to a 1000. After 1000 I think every 500 or 1000 would be a Significant Milestone.

    Justin

Thanks for your input Justin ! Anyone else with some ideas to this subject ?

  8. We tend to cache all year around , sometime some of those longer hikes are much more enjoyable in the fall and winter months as those pesky vampire bugs are not around .

Just remember to dress for the weather and its all good !

That sounds like a really great time , and much more "doable" for Tiggers then a trip to KY, even though the Windy Rock event does sound like a lot of fun !
