You're in the wrong country then. At least in the Netherlands we still have a decent amount of multi-lovers. But 10 stages indeed is nothing. I can't be bothered to look around, but I suppose the various multi's I've done over 10 or 20 km will have a decent amount of waypoints. I suppose as a cache owner the logs from people doing multi's are a lot more fun to read than the various variations on 'tftc'.

Zoals ik al zei: "ik mag hopen...." Dat was meer een reactie op het feit dat je beweerde dat je een multi best wel kon inschatten op basis van alleen het eindcoordinaat.

Voor mij is dat naar goed Brabants gebruik ongelofelijk kansloos gepruts, ben er maar trots op. Maar goed, ik mag hopen dat voor de caches die je op die manier reduceert tot oprapertjes, je in je logs niet gaat lopen roepen hoe waardeloos het is. Een multi is niet alleen maar de eindcache, dus daar je mening op baseren is wel erg onterecht richting de cachemakers.

I think that you can't go back to the time when Virtuals were being published. I think it would be a disaster, given what way geocaching has 'evolved' since then. Just imagine the boat loads of 'easy traditionals' that have been placed since then. My expectation is that virtuals will be used a lot because it takes away the last 'effort', the placing of a container and a log that needs to be replaced every now and then. You will get a million virtuals with 'read the number of the pole'. And you will have a larger crowd doing false logs since there is no longer any evidence of logging except the number that you can exchange with others. Currently the false logging is just something that is there and you can ignore it. What if e.g. 10% of all logs were fake? I think too many factors have changed to make it a real option

If someone doesn't download them,doesn't put them on their notification list and doesn't actively look for them... that would seem more than enough reason not to start sending mail as well. I'd consider putting it up at a local caching forum, perhaps go to other events and talk about it, but nope, mass mailing people would not be on my list.

Are you sure you are not mixing up driving and geocaching? I never have air conditioning when I'm geocaching.

Looks like you're proving the point the starter is trying to make :-) This person with 17 founds might have been looking for half an hour,doing his best to find is. The one with 3000 founds might just consider '30 seconds the limit' and decide if he hasn't found it by then, it's a waste of his scoring run.

Misschien is daar gwoon een reden voor. Er was al aangegeven dat er wat problemen met dat account en het forum gedeelte waren. Voor hetzelfde geld ligt dat bij een helpdesk van Groundspeak te wachten tot het aan de beurt is tussen alle andere vragen van gebruikers. Geef hem(m/v) gewoon het voordeel van de twijfel

tsja, jij hebt ook dingen die je liever voor jezelf houdt. En daar waardeer je het ook als andere mensen je keuze accepteren. Right?

En als die persoon dat wil, waarom zou je dat niet gewoon respecteren? Het uitvinden is redelijk triviaal, desnoods plaats je een stuk of 3 nieuwe caches met een plaatje op je eigen webserver waar je de logs kan napluizen. Weet je meteen al ip adressen. En de rest komt dan vanzelf wel. Maar waarom zou je? Who f*cking carez? Ik zou er weinig aan missen als ik niet wist wie de huidige reviewer was, au contraire.

Dat hoofdstuk was toch al afgesloten? Kwaliteit mocht je niet meer over praten en zo, en gewoon accepteren zoals het gaat

Er staat zelfs in dat het langer geduurd zou hebben door alle voorstellen omdat Groundspeak al die mensen moest onderzoeken. Maar laat het vooral weten als ik het verkeerd gelezen heb, en vertel even welke stukken ik dan zeker opnieuw moet lezen

Sjonge jonge wat een rare reacties hier zeg... Het is toch logisch dat als de reviewer op vakantie gaat en zegt een maand niet te reviewen, dat dan de gedachten weer gaan naar "he, er zou toch een nieuwe aankomen"?

Not all people log online, some only after a few months. Why should it bother anyone? FTF people should stop complaining about all kinds of scenario's where they arrived at the cache and were not the FTF. It's the main part of your little game, so stop whining if you don't win all the time.

Nope. They don't know. Just like the forumpages. The information you see only means that someone has done something on that page recently (perhaps also that they didn't do anything else on other pages) Furthermore: the people where I think it might be useful if they could see me being online or vice versa already have more than enough options of seeing it. For the rest of the world, I don't see any reason why they'd have to know that. It doesn't mean anything about me reading mail or not, so patience is required anyway.

Some people will like those caches, some will like others. In time you will get your own preferences and skip the other caches. A cache is a challenge. What the challenge is, varies from cache to cache. It can be a mental challenge. It can be a physical challenge. It can be climbing trees, it can be walking all day in the hills. It can even be trying to fight the bad feeling in your stomach when you approach yet another 'lovingly hidden' cache on a parking lot. Find out what you like, and look for those caches. Ignore the rest. Whether you do the caches you dislike or not, there will always be over a million caches you won't find, so you might as well just limit yourself to the ones that bring you a good time.

De eigenaar hoeft toch ook geen bericht te ontvangen? Als hij dat niet doet en er gebeurt niks, pleurt een reviewer het wel het archief in. Probleem opgelost

Los daarvan: sjorren aan een dood paard. De maker is er mee opgehouden. Opruimen lijktme de beste oplossing. "Should be archived" erbij zetten, kijken of daar op gereageerd wordt, en zoniet dan wordt de cache vanzelf gearchiveerd. Als je enorm gehecht bent aan de cache, kan je eventueel de omschrijving bewaren en zelf een cache bouwen op die plek eventueel.
