  5. Put a "GAME CAMERA" nearby, so that it takes a pic of the people getting into the cache..... Not practical but just a thought......... "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com

  7. A ONE is chair accessible. A 1.5 with help and a lot of difficulty. A two, you better be walking. That is how I rate the caches I place. "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  8. Too many people mess up the "ratings" as it is with only two, and you want to add a third? Knowing how good a cache is would be nice but is that what the LOG is for? (Sorry for being blunt but I am on limited time to night. Got called into work EARLY..) "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  9. I hit a cache a few months ago and it had not been hit since it was put out. "Karens Klamath Cache" was not found for a YEAR before I got. I tried to hit it on its one year anniversery, give or take a couple of days.... "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  10. Hasn't this been hashed before?????? "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  11. The first attempt at this cache was at 11pm (had to try it at night) on the following day of cache placement. I did see some tracks of vehicles in the vicinity of the cache, some in remote areas, but no "SKULL". It was a fun attempt and will look some more (fat guy needs the excersise) because that area is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. And for anyone comming to our area, give us a call. We'll cache with ya...... "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  12. I have a 50 cal Desert Eagle. I carry it for the extra work out. "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  13. We played both ways. A locked down carrier, and give the clue version. Does running 1000 watts cheating????? "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  14. It still refers to a location, but not a physical cache. Those type of caches are a "Non-Physcal" cache, meaning you cant log in a logbook/trade out items at THE SITE. What to call them is a hard order to fill. I think the name has to do something that describes that kind of cache. Locationless IMO does not fit the bill, but can't think of anything better right now..... "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  15. "Karens Klamath Cache" was another hard one. Gone for one year before some one found it, ME! "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  16. She is the one that keeps up on the new things on this site. You WILL make it down to our neck of the woods soon (I hope) and when you do our doors will be open with plenty of caches to find. More are always on the way. Thank you for the kind words and the Pizza Schmizza (how ever you spell it). Do to a new work scedual our out of twon trips are cut to minimal amount, (lets just say I am not unemployed anymore) and that our caching has come to a crawl. We will get back on the bandwagon and get out 100th before Oct when our 1yr comes up (I hope). There are caches popping up in the Medfors Grants Pass area like wild-flies. Thank you fractal for being the person you are, may the FORCE be with you and your GPS guides you in the right direction...... "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com

  18. Was the log book signed?? That sums it up right there. Of course that does not apply to Virts or other types of locationless caches.... "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  19. Geocaching is fun, but there are some rules to follow. To sign the log book (at the cache) is to log a find on the net. No log book, no find. "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  20. As long as the risks are put on the cache page (extra equipment, extra H2O, special skills) and it is rated accordingly, place it. Just remember that if its too much for some people, it wont get much traffic. "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com

  22. quote:Originally posted by smithcon: -- they are closer to Earth so they ortsbit at a faster rate, . Not really, check out http://liftoff.msfc.nasa.gov/RealTime/JTrack/3D/JTrack3D.html Goto "J-Track 3D" A window will pop open showing the Earth and a bunch of white dots. The dots are satellites. Select "Satellite" in the upper left hand corner of the screen, then click on "Select" and it will open a drop down menu. Make sure you have "ALL" selected as "TYPE" and "View". Now scroll down untill you get to "GPS BII-02" and it will show you witch one of those tiny dots is that particular satellite. Now tell me, does that orbit look close to the Earth compaired to the other sats that are out there? Sorry smithcon, did mean to sound like an arse. but their orbits are still nominally stable orbits. . 24. I have had this question asked to me before. If you are talking about ALL us states, Alaska is the one that fits most of the bill. It resides over the 180° meridian of longitude so it puts some of the Aleutian island chain into the eastern hemisphere. I have won many bets over that info. Brings back old memories. Hawaii is the farthest south. Now what about the lower contiguous (aka. Lower 48) states??? "My gps say's it RIGHT HERE". http://www.geogadgets.com
  25. The wife pushed me into it. So we bought a gps and went on our first hunt in Oct of last year. Now we go every chance we get, but I think I am getting a little more picky about the caches we hunt, but still hooked like a 300lbs halibut.....
