  1. I like to keep it simple. Geocaches can be logged online as Found once the physical log has been signed. Signing the container is lame and the log should be deleted.

  3. +1 I hope Goundspeak never gets into the FTF fracas, that would be an administrative nightmare.
  4. Darn and I just bought a brand new Set
  5. My understanding is that the wiring runs through a conduit where the pole attaches to the concrete pier. Therefore, it would be impossible for the cache container to press against the wires in the manner that you are describing. This is a picture of one of the poles in question. And yes there use to be a now archived cache 1 pole to the west of this one that had a missing access door. News Story
  6. I don’t call it fear mongering. I call it reinforcing common sense.
  7. The biggest problem I see is the container will get carried off by one of the forrest rodents.
  8. These aren't the same type of lamp post with a skirt as found in many a big box parking lot. There's lots of reasons to not like LPC hides. This isn't one of them. An unproperly grounded lamp post is an unproperly grounded lamp post doesn't matter if it a city owned lamp post or a wally world lamp post. Both will kill or maim.
  9. If you are going down the Adriatic coast in Croatia, Dubrovnik is a must see location.Ragvsevm gives you a great view of the city.
  10. Vaclavak / Wenceslas square is a neat square in central Praha to visit. I think this is one of the caches there was a brouhaha about being the most visited.
  11. http://www.opencaching.com/#geocache/OXZTY0P Hmmm I dont think its going to work because the other cache is not listed on OC... For the test to work the two caches need to be posted on OC... I dont think OC can come into GC and see whats going on right? i don't know what happened over there, but the cache i submitted/published is gone now. it's disappeared from my profile and i don't know why. OK I'm really confused is opencaching.com and opencaching.us totally different ??
  12. I just stopped at the H Mart in Tigard. They have a whole half side of an aisle of the Lock&Lock brand. Which I consider superior. 350ML size for $1.79
  13. "This partnership will help millions of shoppers across the nation identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to law enforcement authorities.” "If you see something suspicious in the parking lot or in the store, say something immediately," Napolitano said By month's end, 588 stores will participate in 'See Something, Say Something' campaign
  14. If I started a where "I got boinked" series it would rival the ET power trail in Nevada.
  15. You might have replaced the 'missing' cache, logged the find telling the CO what you did in the log. Then email/call the CO to let them know you are fine if they care to delete your find log if they are not pleased with the help you provided them and future seekers. This has worked for me and I have found CO's understanding and appreciative. I don't believe in "throwdowns" unless I have the explicit permission from the cache owner.
  16. I always verify (without being asked) property lines when I place a cache. Maybe I'm lucky because King County has a great spatial information application. KCGIS Center
  17. I did a cache run last year and it took me 2 days to write a unique log for each cache. My suggestion only find as many caches in a day as you are comfortable writing logs for.
  18. I used these maps for Moscow and Egypt and found them very reliable and accurate.
  19. In an area where a cache owner purposely places a cache when they know that there is ongoing illicit activity present.
