  1. Here is an odd sign I saw on a convenience store in Seam Reap Cambodia.
  2. While looking through some logs I saw this one that brought a smile to my face. LOG She even bypassed a FTF to bring them to safety.
  3. Someone has a whole series named THIS Then there is this ONE
  4. Truly a NW icon. Over the years Cristy and I shared many emails. If I ever had an issue or DNF on one of their caches they would quickly respond.
  5. There's someone doing that north of here or have his friends write his SN on the log before they are published. People are laughing at him when he said he got so so many FTFs. I only put that out as a hypothetical suggestion. I didn’t think anyone would have such low ethical standards that they would actually do that.
  6. Congrats to FrodoB (one of the most ethical cachers in Washington) on finding cache #20,000 somewhere in the Nevada desert.
  7. One good way to increase your FTF count is to create a couple Sock Puppet accounts. Place caches under your sock puppet account and then go out and FTF them.
  8. Something interesting I found from that site. 1. Every Russian geocache is necessarily tied up with some place of interest. This turns geocaching from "pure" sport to a combination of adventure and sightseeing.
  9. Even after the cache was archived people are still claiming a virtual find on it. This Isn't a virtual? [Caches Found] 758 Found it 12 Feb 12 #757 2012-02-12 15.00 Well, found the two locked boxes, but no container anywhere around, so a virtual log will have to do. Amazing with a quiet park in this buzzing area. TFTC / This Isn't a virtual?, city, country This Isn't a virtual? [Caches Found] 71 Found it 11 Feb 12 As the last log : we found the (lovely) park after a long and warm way. The park is very quiet and the city of 'haha' is a beautiful place. Unfortunately, we didn't found the canister. Only the power box. So it will be a virtual log if possible. If it is forbidden, do not hesitate to erase this log ! Thanks for this cache. We would never have found this park during our 'teehee' honeymoon without geocaching ! Reviewer [Caches Found] 2686 Archive 08 Feb 12 Archived, as cache owner is allowing virtual logs in place of maintaining the cache. This Isn't a virtual? [Caches Found] 2211 Found it 07 Feb 12 Seems like this one is gone. I must have missed running into OtherCacher as I was there on the same day, at a similar time according to the suns position in his pictures, lol. Shame that it had to be archived, but that is how the cookie crumbles.
  10. Or you get stuck finding a cache, check the hint to get the information you need to make the find, only to find it says "none needed". If it isn't a hint, don't put it in that field. Uggghhh. It's soooo frustrating when that happens. And it happens a lot. What is even more frustrating is when the hint says "look on the left side of the trail" Uhhh how do they know which way I came in from?
  11. Hands down the best writing utensil is the Fisher Apollo Space Pen. If you look for deals they can be bought for as little as $6.
  12. While we are at it lets do retroactive charter memberships as well.
  13. According to the centers for disease control about 20 people a year are killed by cows in the United States
  14. The best way not to receive those annoying emails is to not to hide any caches. And archive the cache you have.
  15. It looks like the Discovery Pass will now be "transferable" in 2012
  16. All of Oregon has 27,382 caches as of 12:01am 06Nov2011 Of those 1091 are PMO caches However the Portland Metro area consisting of Multnomah Washington and Clackamas counties have 6605 caches 911 of them are PMOs.
  17. I've always thought that name of this cache was questionable, it is however the name of the town. Last time I was in Europe I was thinking of getting that cache but it was to far out of the way.
  18. Here is an interesting "found it" log I got on off my caches. Found it ScaredOfBirds 10/24/2011 (#108) I found the cache, but could not sign the log as i was too scared of the doves. they are enormous beasts with very dangerous looking beaks. clapping my hands to make them fly away did not work. but flapping their wings to make me go did work............... TFTC XXXXXXX germany
  19. So what happens when the author doesn't give a accurate translation of the log ? Who would know ? As someone who has cached in dozens of countries around the world I am very glad that GS has not made this an English only game. Besides I can say lamp post, magnetic keyholder and guardrail in a couple different languages now. Words I have picked up from the hint field. This deserves to get minus 3 votes if I could.
  20. Which cachers were kidnapped ? Hope it wasn't someone I know..
  21. I did a real enjoyable Power Trail the other day. 15 miles worth of pedaling on a bike trail and 20 caches.
  22. Hide the cache 25 feet into the woods behind the guardrail. Since that's within the usual error for a GPS receiver, people will drive up, assume that it's in the obvious place, and make a thorough search of the guardrail before following their GPS to the actual hiding place! Or better yet: Hide the cache 25 feet into the woods, attach a bison to a section of model railroad guardrail and in the hint say guardrail.. Yup I've seen it already.
