  1. France still thinks it belongs to them. From the CIA World Factbook First settled by the French in the early 17th century, the islands represent the sole remaining vestige of France's once vast North American possessions.
  2. Interesting list thanks for pointing it out. However doesn't explain the Northern Ireland or the St Pierre et Miquelon Issue.
  3. I use an unlocked Android phone. I take out my US sim card whilst flying over. As soon as I get to my destination I buy a sim card from a local cell provider. Usually you can get 500MB of data for around $20US. Then if I need a translation I can do on the spot.
  4. So if you found a nuclear bomb with a geocaching sticker on it you would feel safe poking around it ?
  5. Not always http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2013551882_dog30.html
  6. Oh, actually I second that. . .I glued bricks together for a garden project with construction adhesive and 5 years later, they're intact. I 3rd it. PL brand polyurethane has the best adhesion between different surfaces that I've seen.
  7. I say a souvenir would be the way to do it.. I have one more continent to go... but no current plans to get the last one.
  8. Or you could do it the hard way. Extend your stay at your favorite airport. Such as catching a later flight then walking a mile or two to get a local cache.
  9. Yeah, but then it wouldn't be a reference to the awesome Cartooon The Ren and Stimpy Show which ran on Nickelodeon from 1991-1996. Not a useless hint. Might be a little long, but it ain't useless. (And, yes, a great reference.) OK I went a little OT while it is not totally useless it does not meet the suggestion "Please keep your hints short, so decoding it on the trail is easier" as stated on the cache listing page.
  10. Here is a hint that from a cache I recently found Could have been stated in one word. What rolls down stairs alone or in pairs Rolls over your neighbor's dog? What's great for a snack and fits on your back? It's Log Log Log It's Log, Log, it's big, it's heavy, it's wood. It's Log, Log, it's better than bad, it's good! Everyone wants a log! You're gonna love it, Log! Come on and get your log! Everyone needs a Log!"
  11. Another method in having to deal with logging multiple caches is to not find as many caches. Look for older caches, caches where you have to hike in a few miles and caches with lots of favorite points. I find it refreshing writing a unique log for each cache I find.
  12. That's why we usually check first. Signs are nice, but some people think disposing of them is a way to skip out on needing a pass. Recreation Sites Where Day Use Fees are Charged Is there a similar list for areas where the Discovery Pass is required. Whereas only some Forest Service areas require a NWFP, all State Parks require the Discover Pass. You can find a complete list of State Parks in the dropdown menu on their home page. Also DNR land and others: there are links on the pass page link From this Page It sounds like signs will be posted at areas requiring Discovery Passes

  14. Thanks never knew about that Add-on. Seems to do a decent job.
  15. I was doing some caches along Sultan Basin Road up near Sultan the other day. Some of the gates along the road are posted "Discover Pass Required" some of them are not posted. Since the place I parked didn't have a posted sign I was under the impression that a pass was not required. So I left my pass in the glove box. After I got back I found a pamphlet under my wiper saying "Discovery Pass Required" and went on to explain how to buy one. It was not a ticket so I am left confused. So does an area have to be posted ? Has anyone else run into this issue ?
  16. Deuce has always been slang for poop. As in #2. Guess I'm showing my age.
  17. URL REMOVED for code sharing
  18. To get this thread back on track. shrek198 recently found this at one of my caches.
  19. NotThere [Caches Found] 11206 30 Jun 12 A whole lot of faking logging going on here. Guess I'll have to add it to the Found It = Didn't Find It Forum No log=DNF. Cute idea however. NewCacher [Caches Found] 16 Found it 05 Apr 12 Needs repair NewCacher IKnowItsNotThere [Caches Found] 192 22 Mar 12 Beautiful spot. Very creative cache! Used to ride right through here on my way to work everyday before I moved. Found cache but as others said no log or base. Will check back some day to sign. GoneButStillFound [Caches Found] 7323 21 Mar 12 Container and log were missing as everyone else says. INeedASmile [Caches Found] 3898 19 Mar 12 Found cache. No log. NothingThere [Caches Found] 74 18 Mar 12 Found the cache, but there is no longer anything in the base. ImGoingToLogItAsAFind [Caches Found] 444 13 Mar 12 Found the cache ok but the cache was damaged and there was no log to sign.I'm going to log as a find but I see other logs that support lack of log. Thanks much. NoLog [Caches Found] 7014 22 Feb 12 This is a pretty neat idea for a cache but is indeed in need of some TLC and a new log. Thanks for getting us out here even on a pretty windy morning we enjoyed the area. TFTC SL
  20. Here is one a geek would appreciate GC1FHEX And it is even a geeky puzzle
  21. Here is a totally different type of resistor puzzle. A Kirchhoff the Old Block This type is a tad harder.
  22. I thought this one was kind of funny. http://coord.info/GCP00P
  23. I find this hard to believe. I've referred to resistor code puzzles as the LPC of cache puzzles. However they're not as popular around here as they once were so this may not apply anymore. I live in a very puzzle-heavy area, and I've never seen one of them around here. Hop on the ferry and come on over to Seattle for a day. I'm sure there is at least one around here. If there isn't let me know I can hide one for you! I know of at least one in Seattle. B@d B0yz
