  1. This is a question I would have also. Is this camera going to be set up at your cache or someone else's? I would avoid a cache I knew had a game camera, just on general principal. Yes sounds kind of pervish and stalkerish to me
  2. +1 A few years ago I tried to make the worlds most annoying cache page. Animated Puzzle Cache It had a really bad autoloading sound file. Fortunately one of the good decisions Groundspeak made was to forbid autoloading sound files. For your edification. 5 Reasons Your Website Should NEVER Autoplay Sound!
  3. I guess everyone knows the Pilotsnipes has stopped working. I ended up using a German one [nuvifavoriteexport.gsk] for now on the NUVI. This is OK, since now I have a PN40 plus and Oregon 450 to give me detailed information. In your case you can save a PQ to your phone [GCing App] and bring the NUVI for finding caches by entering coords manually. Yes there is a direct replacement for the Pilotsnipes macro Nuvi_GPX_by_CT.Gsk Works like a charm
  4. The fact that you were able to PAF tells me someone else had previously found it, yet the cache still existed. People, if you see a cache like this, don't just look the other way. Do something about it! Ummm I did right away with info and photos to ironically the same reviewer who archived the cache along Route 58. Sorry, poor wording. I didn't mean to imply that I found fault with anything you did. My frustration was directed toward the finders before you that didn't report the cache, or with the reviewer for not acting on that information if they did. And there were numerous concerns about the hide. Here are a few. Building was ripped open when we go there. just an fyi to the stf. who would rip open a siding on a building anyway? no cachers that i know. of course i dont know any who would hide a cache inside of a wall either. but thats just me. but must agree with previous logs that I felt uncomfortable with its location. If permission had been granted for the placement, then it should be included on the cache page. Just saying I got to ground zero late. I was surprised to see the side of the building ripped open; someones wanted an FTF more than I did I agree with a previous cacher, felt like vandals, but made the find. Hope you had permission too Walked by this location and ruled it out as being tout of bounds but then read the logs and realized it had to be there I was able to find it but it made me uncomfortable doing so. I would most certainly believe it to be private property when it's under the building and no way permission could be given when it's up for lease.

  6. I didn’t think this was believable until I saw it. You have to pull back the metal siding on a building that was for rent. When I found it I had to PAF as it never occurred to me to do that.
  7. I used one of these to get my latest FTF
  8. Not if you have an unlocked phone and buy a local SIM card. When I was in the United Kingdom I got an O2 SIM card and 500megs of data for 20 pounds Or you can rent a MiFi Device
  9. Someone placed a logsheet in an empty one of these containers. The name of the cache was "This is not trash"
  10. Yup it seems like if a lame hide gets a few DNFs then the owner will just archive it without even checking on it.
  11. If you have an unlocked phone buy a local SIM card.
  12. I've always liked the name of this lame cache I put out. Lä Meássm Icrô

  14. Putting caches in a POI file for a Garmin I have not run into the upper limit yet. When I went to The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland last summer I had almost 67,000 caches loaded on my unit.
  15. If you do date based PQs of the entire province, run them through GSAK you can make a POI file of every single cache. If you use the PqSpliter located here it makes it real easy to do.
  16. I'm bumping this to the top in case you didn't see it. HARD RESET I have had to do this a few times on my 62s. Any of my friends who have a 62s have done it numerous resets as well.
  17. My average distance from home is 669.4 Kilometers And one of my meaningless stats My average FTF distance from home is 478.9 Kilometers
  18. And in European countries it is even worse. Sometimes earthcaches are in 2,3 or even more languages. Luckily I have a 62s so can store the whole cache page, It just takes time to get to the correct place.
  19. There is a local car dealer who is giving away free discover passes. Google is your Friend What I found out is The State gave this business 1200 free Discover-passes supposedly in trade for promoting the pass.
  20. A Different Lackey found One of my caches Sunday, 14 April We were going to get some food at ***** when I had a feeling there would be a cache here. Sadly, I did not have a pen on me. So I am attaching a log photo with the previous signature as proof. (Picture removed) Proof I found it. Hate not being able to sign it. If they don't follow their own rules why should anyone else ? Sorry about my last OT post in this thread, I thought everyone knew that pieces of paper always had 2 sides.
  21. There was a geofest a couple years ago that according to the cache page 11,964 people attended it.
  22. Bringing this over from the "Found It = Didn't Find It" thread A full log sheet Is part of that quoting someone else...cause saying "archival" in place of temporary disabling shows a severe lack of knowledge on someone who is suppose to know the difference. Just like at any business, I'm sure there are employees who don't fully understand the company's products. Mail room persons, warehouse, janitors, secretaries, etc. As a follow up the same lackey put a needs maintenance one one of my caches. I guess they didn't realize that log sheets have 2 sides and if one side is filled then you can turn it over and sign the BLANK side of the log.
