  1. I noticed in the cache write up. Please follow traffic rules, and good geocacher style. Does that mean the lame American ways of doing a powertrail such as leapfrogging and container swapping is not acceptable ?
  2. Then you have maintenance plans gone wrong. Such as a cache I found in a small shop in a third world country. Shop owner demanded I buy something first before he would hand over the cache.
  3. Remember there is another thread. Found It = Didn't Find It - Discussion thread. for discussing things.
  4. Continuing this from the Found It = Didn't Find It thread Why would you remove a game piece from a different game ? That's not playing nicely.
  5. I'll be getting that one next February. My favorite souvenir is: Uluru is a place I've always wanted to go to.
  6. That background brown, totally, and te green, maybe after a few too many beer. You can change the cache page background color to the green again by setting a background image. http://coord.info/GC1YRR4
  7. I have yet to run into the upper limit of caches you can put on a Garmin 62S if you do them as POIs. As a test I had 60,000 caches on my unit with no problem.
  8. Check this list List of mobile network operators of Europe Do your homework and find a provider that will work with your phone and buy one of their SIM cards. Assuming your phone is unlocked. You can get data for $20-$30 for 500 megs.
  9. Just checked someone's souvenir page. Since they are named "31 Days of Geocaching 01 of 31" ...... And since souvenirs are listed alphabetically these ugly things will be listed first.. UGGGHHHH
  10. I put out a XMAS themed cache. Legend of the Pickle Still going strong 1.5 years later. It is a pickle container in a very large XMAS tree (30 feet or so) Oh and it is in a pickle park..
  11. I'm going to do my best to NOT find any caches next month.
  12. If you want to place a cache in your front yard, that's fine. In consideration of your fellow cachers you should make sure you put in the full address of the location and color and other identifying information, maybe include a picture of your house. Also include your home phone number, your full name, your cell phone number your work phone number. It would also be good to include your signification others cell phone number and work phone number as well. That way in case you forgot to tell the retired Law Enforcement Officer that lives across the street from you that strange people may be poking around your yard that they shouldn't pull a gun on you and you have all the information needed to walk away alive.
  13. My first cache was B@d B0yz Placed in June of 2005 and still has the original log sheet.
  14. I have cached in over 40 countries and haven't had any trouble with non English cache listing. It is fun to learn some of the local language and interact with the locals. I translate some of the caches I know that I will be doing and for others I use my smartphone to do an on the spot translation. I always buy a SIM card from a local carrier so cost is minimal. If you are having so much trouble then only cache in English speaking countries.
  15. Some ares are not covered by one carrier but are covered by another carrier. How would that work ?
  16. A lot of times people will bushwhack to the cache, then take nice trail back out again.
  17. Just found a cache in Ecuador. Up to 41 countries now.
  18. Yup that is the worse. Even more so then the beating of the chest for a FTF.
  19. Unless you get a local SIM card or rent a portable hotspot.
  20. Since the SIM card in your phone is not removable you could rent a portable hotspot from a local provider whilst you are over there.
  21. Does not look like a common sense placement to me. Is that underground transformer of any historical importance? Why did you want me to come here ?
  22. Groundspeak did officially announce that Mission 9 reclaimed can be used to complete the triad and they still sell the geocoins. That's sad..
  23. Another Groundspeak Lackey Found it 06 Jun 13 Found it but didn't sign name because we didn't have a pen. Had to run away because we were getting eaten alive by mosquitis. Beware of pricklies!
  24. My furthest is Santi-Asoka Cave in Thailand which is 7439 miles from home. A close second is Ankh in Egypt at 7140 miles from home
