I don't claim to know fairy magics, but I am convinced that she was looking out for us. If we had not been delayed leaving for MI Friday night (partially because I went out to snag her coin), we would've been in trouble during our trip. About half-way there, our check engine light came on (no, it wasn't the gas cap). We ended up sitting in a Chevy dealership Saturday morning while it was repaired (good thing there was a cache nearby!). If we had left the night before, we would've been stranded somewhere along the way in the middle of the night. Thanks TGF for watching over us!

Maybe I'm just still tired from the trip, but I cannot see the compass rose coin on the website...did I miss it?

It is amazing how things work out sometimes. I went theough several stages of geocoin madness within a short amount of time. First there was excitement: Geocoin Fairy Coins in PA; then there was disappointment: I saw no way that I would be able to get it before we had to leave for MI; then there was excitement (again), since Brian was not getting home on time; and finally sheer joy as I pulled the coin from the cache. UGH! The fairy has finally made it to PA...2 coins sooooo close to home and we're leaving for a trip to MI in 45 minutes. No time to cache...my heart is breaking!

Yup, Glenn is right...they make the button for you with your coin's tracking info on it. You can make your own laminated sheet for a lot less than buying a button (or you can buy a button maker and make your own). Since you are not likely to wear a pin of this nature, it seems silly to have the info on a pin.

Thanks Glenn...I knew there was a a discussion somewhere, but I was too lazy to look for it. I recently went to an event where someone had a geocoin copy that they pulled from a cache. Although it is a way to make sure that the coin doesn't go MIA, I'd rather see the coin in person if I'm going to log it. But that's just me.

I thought that sending copies of geocoins out was a no-no. I saw that someone was selling buttons on that e-place. They place a picture of the coin on the button with its tracking number, and it says "The original is a coin in the owner's collection".

The youngest dragons (Heather) makes a pretty woodlands fairy... Too bad her wand doesn't make geocoins magically appear...usually it just makes her sister mad when she gets bopped on the head with it! LOL!

I made the mistake of showing this one to my girls. Ooops! They both REALLY like it, esp. the 4 year old (she LOVES fairies...wants to be Tinkerbell for Halloween this year). Maybe the fairy will visit PA someday.

Well that didn't take long. Our activated DD geocoin is AWOL. I just received this message from the cache that we placed it in: "Wanted to swap GeoCoins but no GeoCoin to be found. There was a log entry by some SeaCadets but no mention of the coin. Left our new CITO GeoCoin hopefully to make its way back home." Ours and a London geocoin was in the cache. Maybe it will resurface....maybe the cacher that took it hasn't logged anything on the computer yet...guess we'll just have to wait & see.

Nice looking coin...reminds me of 2005 Ohio...we'll take 1.

Go to the top of this thread...at the bottom of triffid's post, there are 3 blue buttons on the bottom of the post "On" "Card" "PM". Click on "PM" and a window will open up and allow you to send a PM
