  1. I want to make a puzzle cache someday, so I want to do a few fun and good puzzles first to get an idea. (That and reach 100 total finds) Anyone got any reccomendations? The better instruction they have the better for my sanity. (Ones that don't tell me what to do annoy me to no end.)

  2. This is what I do when my GPS decides to be touchy (and how I found caches before I had a GPS)

Know common kinds of hides, LPC's, magnetic key hiders, stumps, fake sprinklers ect.

Know what your looking for by container and hints to help zero you in if your GPS is being touchy.

Look for unnatural objects or places disturbed by other cachers (foot prints, flattened grass, broken ferns ect)

If all else fails, find a poking stick.

  3. I put in old toys. Since cleaned out my closet I found a bunch of random old goodies like figures, pullbacks and other doo dads that have been there for years that I forgot about.

I love it when ppl leave matchbox cars. I might be 20 but they are still fun lol.

  4. I too have been having this problem since the site update. I have found however, that if you go to the top of the page where it says "Map it" you can access the map that way.

LOL I just noticed that. It must be an issue with links or something. Its gonna be a pain till it gets fixed.

  5. Who is grossed out by touching downtown city micros?

You probly would only understand it if you live in the city and know how dirty everything is. Here in Seattle it is pretty darn gross sometimes if you go to the downtown area. There are lots of homeless people everywere. I won't go into detal but I am sure you can figure out why I would not want to put my hands on things lower than waist high in an area with lots of homeless people. Downtown areas just seem to be teeming with dirt and garbage. I don't know what it is like in every big city but in mine it can be filthy. I am half tempted to buy some latex gloves for DT caches.

So am I weird or what lol?

  6. Does anyone else have this problem? I click on the map and it does nothing :S The yahoo maps one does appear but the geocaching one at the bottom with the icons does not. WHy is this? It has been happening since the site update.

  7. There is a surplus in south seattle at the intesection of Lander and Utah ave in SoDo.

Thats all I can think of. There is a cache near by it too! (that is how I found out about it lol)

  8. Do you prefer knowing you stumped someone with one of your hides? Or do you prefer it when they find your hide?

I just hid a cache and I am waiting for people to go find it. (GC2970) I personally like more it when people find my hides. I like to see people happy and know that I am helping make this game more fun. Its cool to have people DNF sometimes because I feel like I did a good job on a well hiddend cache.

  9. I would feel bad about it. I would know that it was not my fault because I am smart about steath.

If I really thought it was my fault (like mabey I was impatient and I wasn't stealthy or my foot found the cache first and crushed it) I would contact the CO and offer them a new container + logbook.

  10. It could be stolen

    It could be lost

It could not be logged as taken just yet

    It could be computer/user error

Plenty of things can go wrong so I try not to expect to see TB's or coins. I try not to be negative and think people stole them because why knows for sure. No sence in blaming people lol. Who knows that the coin is not in a similarly named, or nearby cache that the trader made a mistake in logging? I think people do steal them sometimes but, I don't think it is as common as people would like to think. I am a newbie so mabey I have not seen enough to know what goes on as well as people that have been in the game for years.
