  1. Try theses: www.gpscity.com www.gpsexplorer.com
  2. I got a minor case of PI last weekend, I'm still trying to get it to dry up.
  3. I typically leave more than I find, to help re-stock the caches. Normally, if I'm caching by myself, i don't take anything, but do leave a couple of items. If my boys are with me, then that means that we are taking two items, but we always leave equal or more than we take. I think the rule of thumb is, if you take more than one item, then you should leave an equal amount of items.
  4. My 3 and 4 y/o can do up to 3/4 mile round trip, before they start to whine and I have to carry the 3 y/o.
  5. My boys are 3 and 4 and go cahcing with me quite often. Start them out on easy ones, where the difficulty and terrain is low, as you don't want to have to carry them on the hike. My boys can walk about 3/4 to 1 mile before they start to whine. Once they figure out that there is a treasure at the end of the quest, they will be more eager to go caching or treasure hunt to them. Most of all, just have fun and enjoy your time with your kids!
  6. I'd have to say about 50% of the time, I'm caching alone. THe other 50% of the time, I either have my boys (4 and 3) with me or GeoDog or another cacher. I don't mind caching alone, sometimes it's more enjoyable to get out by yourself and enjoy the peace and quite.
  7. I have upgraded to the Gramin 60CS and need to sell my Legend C, here's the details: Garmin Legend C (COLOR Screen) GPS 6 Months Old Excellent - Flawless Condition Includes: Original box, manuals, cables and CD Accessories Included: Garmin Form Fit Case Garmin Suction Windshield Mount Cigarette Lighter Power Adaptor Original cost of GPS and accessories was $350.00. I am selling it for $250.00, which includes shipping. I accept Paypal, cash or money orders. Please email me at trector55@comcast.net if you are interested, otherwise it will go on eBay over the weekend. Thanks!
  8. I have the Treo 600 and have Cachemate installed, works fine on my 600 and should work fine on the 650, since a palm based OS. Also, if you have a DATA plan, you can actually surf GC.com while out caching. I did this on a recent cache when I forgot the hint for the cache. The TREO's are great, don't know what I'd do without my Treo.
  9. Yep, I've been a paid part-time Medic for the past ten years.
  10. I'd have to say that the best thing that I've found wasn't in the cache, it was the smile on my son's face when we find a cache!
  11. Yep, I've pretended that my GPS is a cellphone. It's kind of funny some of the things that we do to hide what wew are really doing.....
  12. Thanks Leprechaun and Man in the Wild !
  13. My wife has finally convinced me to get another dog, so we've searched for a rescued husky and found one in Kentucky and are going to meet the people in Charleston, WV, since we are from Pennsylvania. What I need to know is, what would be a good meeting place in Charleston? We are coming from from PA on I-79 and they would be coming in from KY on I64. Is there a local park near an exit from either I-79 or I64? Of course, if the park had a cache, then I'd be aloud to do it, since the wife owes me big time now... Thanks for your help!
  14. I'm looking for an un-activated Pennsylvania GeoCoin, anybody have one for sale or can point me in the right direction to get one? Thanks!
  15. While doing a couple of caches in high muggle areas, I took along a clipboard with some papers on it, to make it look like I'm doing something official. I get the normal looks from muggles, but no one has approached me while I've been doing a cache. Hopefully, they think I'm some government employee with a clipboard...
  16. I'm travelling to Ohio this weekend for my mother's b-day, so I'm planning on hitting 5 to 7 caches on the there and back to Pennsylvania. I've modified my normal travel route, just so I can hit some caches on the trip.
