  1. I just noticed that there is a function to attach coordinates ("a waypoint") to uploaded images: "Edit Image Details" -> "Has Waypoint". When I enter coordinates to an image however these are not stored permanently but only for the first click, meaning that they show up below the image preview after clicking "Edit Details" but are gone when I again click "Edit Image Details".

Do I misunderstand this feature? Am I using it in a wrong way? Is it not (yet) meant to work?

  2. I could find two previous threads about this topic: Bookmark Comment Notification E-mail and Feature Request: Notify when Bookmarks are rated. Both seem not to have been dropped.

Please implement a feature that allows owners of shared and public bookmark lists to get notified by e-mail about new ratings of their bookmark list. As the rating itself the e-mail should not contain the name of the geocacher.

I'd suggest to do this automatically for all bookmark lists or default-enable it.

  3. I like it the way it is.

AFAIK notifications have 4 dimensions: cache type, log type, coordinates, distance. Honestly, I can not imagine how you can improve much of the system how it is today without making notifications less powerful. You could do some sort of a "2D-grid" for one pair of coordinates and log type where for every log type one can select the distance or for a pair of coordinates and cache type where for every cache type one can select the distance.

I do use different combinations of all of these dimensions, which results in many different notifications. However, it would be useful do include the name of the notification in the header of the email...

  4. It seems that you allow not properly closed html elements, such as "font". In the example below, everything after the long description section (in HTML) is displayed in blue on my screen (hint, waypoints, logs, server time, "users watching listing", ...).

    Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, latest Chrome

  5. A weird thing that is wrong in my opinion (and that I can reproduce reliably):

    1. Make sure you have entered home coordinates in your profile
    2. Create a Bookmark List (optional, you just have to have one (can even be one of another player))
    3. Add a Listing near your HOME coordinates to the List (the bookmarks has to contain at least one entry from which you know where the coordinates point to relative to your home coordinates)
    4. Create a PQ (normal, not from the bookmark list!) centered (far) away from your home coordinates
    5. wait for the PQ to run (may be optional, not tested)
    6. reload the bookmark list

expected: the listing has the known distance/direction to your home coordinates

observed: the distance/direction of the listing in the bookmark list is calculated from the PQ center

When you run* another PQ with another center point the bookmark entries get their distance/direction from this new PQ.

*not tested if this occurs due to the "creation" or due to the "run" of a PQ. I can reproduce it with creating new PQs

    (Chrome, Win7)

  6. The API does not yet include the user's corrected coordinates, but that functionality is coming.

    When?

Why don't you support the corrected coordinates when downloading an individually created PQ?

This goes for archived listings too.

  7. On the website you can see all details of archived caches.

With the app it is possible to download archived caches (PQ of bookmark) and view every detail exept for the coordinates.

As geocaching is all about locations i would like to be able to

-see the coordinates off all listings (including archived ones)

-be able to navigate to all caches (including archived ones)

    Is there a workaround?

I could not even enter coordinates manually because the map mode is deactivated.

Note: This issue has nothing to do with the PQ - it contains the coordinates.

  8. You can sort within offline lists by distance, GC code , title, terrain, difficulty, type and favorite points. There currently isn't a way to search for a specific cache within these lists though.

The distance sorting is very confusing:

I (actually my device B) ) am at point A and search for caches around another point B because I plan to go to B.

The returned list is sorted by distance to point A. Why?

I think this sorting is very confusing. A possible "workaround" is to make use of the "map it" function.

  9. I'd like to be able to correct the coordinates in listings of letterbox hybrids as I can do with other non-traditional caches.

The reason for this is that in my area most of the letterbox-caches are made like puzzles and/or multi caches - the listed coordinates are not the ones where the letterbox is hidden.
