  1. For those that may be interested in seeing pictures of our Whitney hike, you can find them here.

Since I did not make it to the top, I don't have pics from the peak.

I'll make it next year!

Awesome pictures! Thanks for sharing them. You have some incredible photos in there..

Thanks for all the great comments. B)

  2. I will be taking a motorcycle trip to Colorado next month...

Great! Welcome to Colorado when you get here, Randy!

Do you have a firm timeline of when you'll be here?

Also, there is Trail Ridge Road that travels through RMNP that is a great drive/ride. Nominal fee for entrance into park.

I will leave SD Sept 14 and expect to make it into southern Colorado Sunday the 16th.

I expect to have 5-6 solid days in Colorado. Yes, The RMNP is a must on my list!

    Thanks!

  3. I will be taking a motorcycle trip to Colorado next month.

I am now researching areas that might be fun for dual sport riding.

One area I plan to visit is Mount Evans, the highest road in the continental US at over 14,000 ft.

Are there any other motorcycle riding geocachers that might have other suggestions?

I also plan to hit up at least one of the RM off-road series....on my motorcycle!!!! :o

  4. The GeoBabes and their chore-boy Harmon had quite an experience today. Harmon's log had me cracking up so much I changed the name of the cache! Well, more liked added a couple of words...

    Smell ya later!

    D!

Duncan! somehow I feel honored, I stink. Wait, that's not right, ... I mean "I think."

That's some pooper pump, you can actually hear the "lumps" passing through. When the odor first hit us we started eyeing one another suspiciously but then the Geobabes pinched their noses and pointed their fingers at me right away. Why is ever'body always pickin' on me?

Makes y' wonder about them other finders. Nobody noticed it but us.

    Poor ol' Harmon

    Chore-boy huh? Why I oughta ....

"That's some pooper pump, you can actually hear the "lumps" passing through.":cool:

There is no way that we could've missed that.

  5. I have just placed a cache for Bikedog (BIKEDOG LIVES-GC10B9T)in Ukiah ca. 95482, to honor his 1 year early departure with us  , I placed it on 1-13-07 and it has not been found yet!

It would be a great addition to the cache if I could find one of his smashed pennies to place in with the items that WILL NOT BE REMOVED.

I have a Bikedog Geocoin in there and other items that relate to bikedog, but it would complete this cache to have a signature item, whether it is one of his smashed pennies, a smashed nickel or anything he may have dropped in to say "bikedog was here"

If anyone has one - This would be a good, safe home for it! -----Thanks for your help---007BigD

I can even trade you something!!!!!!!!

What a cool idea for a cache!

NewDawn and I met Bikedog on October 30th, 2005 at the "Keep on truckin' geo campout" (GCQMBP)

It was a quick meet and at the time, we were unaware that we shared a passion of dual sport riding.

I have a BMW GS1200 and my favorite place to ride is in Northern California.

Next time I'm up that way, I WILL visit your cache.

Thanks for posting this info in the forums.

  6. Anything in the morning going on?

    TA

I see that you opted out of hitting up the Cowles Mtn caches a day or two back. You still interested?

I was going to hit up the Cowles trail via Barker trailhead tomorrow morning. I probably have at least a dozen caches to hit up.

  7. This is copied and pasted straight from the Garmin Website:

    Q. Is the iQue 3000/3200/3600 compatible with Apple Macintosh computers?

    A. Garmin now offers a Palm Desktop for the Mac that is compatible with Mac OS X and above. This is a basic Palm desktop application only. Garmin MapSource options are only available in a Windows format. In the future, Garmin will offer a solution so Mac computers can work with Garmin devices in 2007.

  8. Ooops, I didn't see that post. Don't mean create competition for event caching... Rain is not good... Sounds like rain would wash out any attempt at The Kiss of Midnight based on the cryptic description provided... Anyhoo, this one does seem to be designed for group caching, so anyone interested keep in touch 'cause It's on my very short list...

Timing, it seems, is everything and, as usual, mine is lousy... :D I'm really looking forward to doing this one. It sounds like a lot of fun, but...

...I won't be able to go after this cache for a couple of weeks. I'm hoping that there will still be a brave adventurer or two around who will not have done it by then... :yikes:

I would like to do this one! I would prefer a Friday or Saturday night but this weekend is out.

Me to I want to go.:D

Count me in. I'm up for tonight. Rain for not.

  9. I know this may be a very basic question, but I have to ask. Those of you who create caches, especially puzzles. Do you use some kind of HTML program to create the description on the cache page?

My newest cache was originally a puzzle. I typed it all out and submitted it. When I went back to look at my page, The text I typed out was all out of whack and out of alignment. An important part of the puzzle would've been in keeping my digits all aligned. So I tried to re-create it using MS word then saving it in HTML. That didn't work either. Frustrated, I switched it to a traditional.

Does someone here have some advise for me? I have a few cool ideas for puzzles and would like to do them soon.

    Thanks,

    Randy

  10. I'm still waiting for the full report also. He seems reluctant to talk about the details. He's sleeping it off today. I picked up some Vicodan for the pain, which seems pretty bad. Although, he IS a man so it may not be that bad.

As for electronics, I think his cell phone is toast, and I haven't seen his GPS around either.

I think the worst part for PW was when PW Son saw the bandages and was a little sacred to hug him. I think I need to make him and DJ a "Victim of Addiction" shirts.

Didn't someone start a forum for war wounds? B) Lets see: TT, Harmon, DJ & PW. Who else? B) And would you quit it!?!?!?! B)

BTW, you're going to have to sell an awful lot of shirts & coins to pay for his new electronics. :DB)

My injuries happened on New Years Eve out in the desert going after a Kawikaturn cache.

I was on my dirt bike riding towards the cache when I was egged on to ride a willy. I overachieved this and had to seperate myself from my bike which was about to flip out of control. I landed on the ground and slid at the speed of 30-40 mph. My knee guards didnt really help too much. I had scrapes and a busted lip. My bike suffered worse damage. At least $100 in repairs. Busted Headlight, broken odometer and busted rear wheel well plastic.
