  1. I looked at Mongers Manchester Meet and it was all pink - the map that is not the evening!
  2. I don't often contribute to congratulation threads but this one is worth it -- very well done!
  3. That is great news - I've already shown my intent to be there. Just one detail - the webpage still shows 1st August as the event date (7/1/2008) and this comes through when I download it to GSAK which could be confusing.
  4. And what happens - a DNF nearly broke my run of at least a cache a day so far this year! Fortunately there was a reasonably easy one on my way home - though that was difficult for this shortie to reach!
  5. And how many of those have you earned? Quite a few- if you pick the right caches . I seem to remember I got 18 for Sea to Shining Sea and there's 9 up for grabs on it now! Sorry I was being a bit thick - I thought you meant caches which had never been discovered, i.e. FTFs after a number of months!
  6. I used to use it but then found it was lagging well behind Groundspeak's notifications so disabled it.
  7. My enthusiasm was at a very low ebb an hour or so ago as it was p***ing down. Now the sun has come out and I am just checking if there is anything new around here, or I will carry on with the local batch of unfounds.
  8. What is your problem getting coords from Groundspeak into your PDA? Have you tried using GSAK? There are several cachers within a few miles of Garswood who would be only too pleased to help you, including me.
  9. I was very moved to read those articles. I had known for some time that Wendy was a special person but had not realized how brave to have overcome such difficulty - and to give so much credit to Caesar as well! Very well done!!!
  10. Veery interesting - now we all know where Lacto Towers is! But I am a little worried as the marker appears to be in a tree or bush in the back garden - in the dog house again?
  11. Good luck - that is very welcome news. I am sorry I was not able to offer to help but glad some have.
  12. I am sorry that you do not have the time to continue as this had been a valuable resource. Many thanks to you and Deego for your hard work on our behalf. My last contribution was not a very good month but it has all been fun Happy New Year John
  13. In what way are your Google maps not appearing correctly. The look identical here. Gotta love Firefox, smaller, more secure, customisable and more web standards compliant. It show the same Google map for every cache! I am having that problem on my laptop and, though I corrected it on my desktop machine, I can't remember how? Would some kind person remind me please! I had a similar problem, and I just copied the whole of the Firefox folder from the application data on my main computer to the laptop, and overwrote all the files there, and lo! - a clone of my main installation with all the bookmarks, settings, everything, including the maps. Hope this helps. Many thanks, I have only just got round to trying it and it seems to work a treaat.
  14. Mrs B... I thnk this is the best thing that has been posted on here in ages... PLEASE can we let the dust settle? Amen to that - except perhaps the quiet period might last till 2nd January?

  16. Well done Chas on a really good article - should see a drastic growth in the number of Cachers in the Borders! Incidentally my reading of it gave the link to www.geocaching.co.uk and I was redirected to the correct groundpeak address and not geocacheuk.
  17. Geocaching has been on the back burner for me for a few days so I have only just read this topic. As it seems to be gelling for Harrogate and as Robin has taken the lead I think that any other suggestions of location are no longer relevant, at least for 2008. So I am adding my backing to Robin and wish him and his committee well - whether I shall be able to help is uncertain at the moment but if I can be there on 12th January I will be in direct touch with Robin as suggested. Meanwhile I have put a watch on the cache page and await developments with great interest.
  18. Now don't let this go to your head and rush on to the next thousand We are looking out for more of your cache hides to keep us entertained But seriously as they say - CONGRATULATIONS
  19. The other cache you mention is well on the other side of the park - but one of the two archived caches was barely over the required tenth mile from the statue.
  20. I used to use the graveyard if a TB was lost but now prefer to put them (if I am unlucky to have any more!) in one of my old caches which has been archived. I use the same old cache for TBs and Geocoins which I have activated but not released.
  21. OK, I've said I will try to look after Liverpool. I THOUGHT I understood it, but now I've seen the diagrams I am not so sure!
  22. My silver one certainly has a number and it is big enough to read without a magnifying glass unlike some. It is at the bottom on the side with the signal box and signal. Mine came yesterday and are really nice - now to steel myself to releasing one.
