  1. We see you were upgraded for 2 months. This was a previous bug but has been fixed this month. When did you use the free trial? Did you only upgrade once? We need to know if this hapened after the bug was fixed so we can look into it further. No worries, you can keep the extra month, we are just looking into fixing this so it doesn't happen again. Thanks!
  2. If logging in again doesn't update the app and recognize your Premium status, please follow JessAnd Todd's suggestion of closing the app, restart the phone and reopen the app. If this doesn't work, delete the app and reinstall it from the app store. As long as you use the same iTunes account, it will not charge your account again. Once you enter your iTunes password, it will recognize your previous purchase so you can download it for free. If you are still having issues, please email contact at geocaching.com directly ATTN: Nicole and I can look into this further directly with you. Happy caching,
  3. Yup, advanced search can search by address, postal code, nearby landmark like 'space needle'. I believe it can only do one location at a time though. You can enter an entire address ie 123 N Main St, Anywhere, WA, 98103 just like you would normally enter addresses. If you have any technical questions regarding the app, please email us at contact@Groundspeak.com so we can help you directly. This forum is for bug reporting and feature requests. Thanks!
  4. Hello Lions Cubs Pack, I see that the reviewer Graculus has reviewed your cache and posted a reviewer note. Please read this and follow their requests. Then you can make any needed changes, post a reviewer note and enable the listing again. Good luck and happy caching,
  5. In addition to the above comments, you can also change your map preferences in the Menu -> Settings to openstreetmaps or Bing maps to save the street or satellite maps for offline use. Google's API prevents us from allowing to save Google maps for offline use. In the future, you will get a faster and more personalized response if you send all general queries and tech support questions to contact@Groundspeak.com. The Community Relations Team responds to all emails, and offers support regarding website use and mobile application use.
  6. In the quick view section of your profile, click on 'set up notifications' under Premium Features. As the moderator mentioned, this forum is for bug reporting and feature requests. If you have questions about how to use the iPhone app, please email contact@Groundspeak.com and we can answer your questions there. Thanks and happy caching,
  7. Yes, this one has caught me out as well. Thanks for the tip of using negative numbers. Will give that a go. Thank you for letting us know. We have entered this bug into our internal queue so our developers can look into fixing this shortly.
  8. If you logged your find for August 20th after that date, the souvenir may not have been retroactively awarded. I have notified my colleague so we will manually add this souvenir to your profile shortly. In the future, if you notice you are missing a souvenir that you should have, please email contact@geocaching.com and we can manually add it. Thank you for letting us know. Happy caching.
  9. Hello 2011CatWoman, We may be a bit biased at Groundspeak, but we have our own Geocaching app for iPhone. I myself use it daily as my preferred method of Geocaching since it is so easy to get out and find a cache without needing to download to a GPS device. The app includes all the description, hints, logs and navigating with the built in GPS receiver. You can log your find and trackables from the app too. Please check out geocaching.com/iphone for more details and a tutorial. We also have a few 3rd party apps that use our API including GCBuddy. These are listed on geocaching.com/live I hope this helps. Happy caching!
  10. Thanks for the update Cyberbloke. Once the PQ generates, you can select 'Pocket Queries' on the home page of the app. Your new PQ will be listed there so you can download it. Then it will be listed in the saved tab at the bottom. I hope this helps more! Let us know if you have troubles again.
  11. TravelinTerriers, if you are able to update to iOS 4.0 or above, please do so. Then you can update the app and it will work for you again. Please see above threads regarding this issue.
  12. Have you tried closing and reopening the app since you fixed the time issue on your phone? If that didn't work, I also suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app, as this often fixes this issue. Please email contact at geocaching.com and we can help trouble shoot with you. Please include the following information: What version of the app are you using? What phone and version are you using? Are you on 3G or 4G? What error or problem is happening? There are some very tech savvy people in this forum as well, that may also be able to help you.
  13. If you found your cache has not been published or reviewed within 3 days, you can either contact your local Reviewer (their usernames are posted on nearby caches as the user that published the cache). You can also email Groundspeak at appeals at Groundspeak.com. We can look into this, suggest any issues we may notice and contact the Reviewer. The Reviewers are volunteers and sometimes life gets in the way but they usually try to Review within 72 hours of enabling the cache. Po., I will contact you directly about your cache. Thanks for your patience.
  14. No, this is never ok, and still goes against our Terms of Use. If you feel you are a victim of cyber-bullying, please email Groundspeak at contact at geocaching.com and the full background of the issue. Then we can look into this further and assist in resolving any issues. I'm sorry to hear you have had an unfortunate experience while Geocaching.
  15. Yes, I have an iPhone 4 and iOS 5. The app still works great for me and still has saved lists. I had a multi with my entered waypoints that was not saved for offline use but by selecting 'find nearby Geocaches' and selecting the cache then navigating still showed the additional waypoints. Thus, I am assuming any saved waypoints would still be included in the saved lists. If you notice any issues with the iOS upgrade, please email contact at geocaching.com and we can look into this more. Thanks and happy caching,
  16. Hello Fati & Kikkah, I changed my language to Francais and checked both the Geocaching and Challenges apps. Both compasses worked as expected. Is your iPhone 4 any different other than setting the language as French? You may want to try restarting the phone and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This often fixes any issues. We have not heard of this problem elsewhere. If anyone else has this compass issue, please let us know. Again, to respond to the users that are upset about the API update, we apologize that we did not give warning that this would occur. If anyone cannot use the app because you cannot update to the latest version 4.5.6, please email contact at geocaching dot com and we will work with you. Thank you for your anticipated understanding.
  17. If anyone has an older version of the Android or iPhone and cannot update to the latest version of the Geocaching app 4.5.6, please email us contact at geocaching dot com. We may still be able to help you in other ways to resolve this problem. Thank you for your understanding! Happy caching this weekend.
  18. I had never done this before. Therefore there was no files to be recovered. I logged in today and synced the phone. Saved all my data and then updated the phone. Then restored all my data back to the phone. After a few minor problems I had everything back working on the phone, but was unable to recover the deleted geocaching app. But with the update on the I phone I was able to download the new geocaching apps that was available. Apple was a big help to me on this even with me not having a tech support agreement purchased and my phone being 142 days past the date of tech assistance. Thanks for all the replys to my problem. Great, I'm glad the app was finally available to you!
  19. Are you using an older version of your mobile phone? iPhone version 1 or iPhone 2 would have the old iOS. If you use iOS 4, you should be able to use the Geocaching app version 4.5 and above. I suggest reinstalling the app from the App Store if you are able to. Unfortunately, we are no longer supporting the outdated versions of the app prior to Android v2 or iPhone v4.5. We are re-allocating our servers to optimize our apps and the website so they can function better and faster. If this is not an option, we are sorry that the app is no longer working for you. You may want to try one of the 3rd party apps or upgrade to a newer phone.
  20. If you can log in to the textmarks app, have you logged in with the new username? If these are old pending field notes, I suggest logging them to clear them out. You could also use the Geocaching app for Android as well and submit as a log (or field note). If you are logged in to the app with your preferred username, it should go to the correct account. If you are still having troubles, please email me at contact at geocaching.com. If anyone else has any suggestions, go for it!
  21. When navigating to the cache on the Geocaching app, click on the flag in the upper right hand corner. You can select 'set to current location'. This will add an additional waypoint. Then after you have found the cache, you can select the flag on the map and 'set as target' to navigate to it. I hope this helps! Happy caching
  22. Are you referring to the phrase that scrolls across the screen, such as 'FTF award goes to Team Aarde'? This is HTML code that is entered in the cache description. Step by step details in how to do this is on the Bloranges website. I hope this helps! Happy caching,
  23. Hello Alaina02, I will contact you directly as to which cache you found so we can arrange to return it to the owner. Alternatively, you can return it to the original location so others may continue to find it. Thanks for letting us know.
  24. Hi eTom22, I see that my colleague Jessie responded to your email on April 8, less than 2 days after you sent the original email. I see you just had a quarterly renewal on July 30th. If you could reply to that email, it will come to our customer support. Then we can pass this email information on to our developers and they can update this information on the back end. I hope this helps!
  25. Thanks for letting us know, SoNotCal!
