  1. I can't find the filters on the website. In the app, they show up, but while you can select them, they are also grayed out. Also, when I select them and apply the filter, I get a message to adjust my filters, so it doesn't seem to be working yet.
  2. Looks like they just made some changes to the cache page editor. Maybe your problem is related to that?
  3. While caches do go missing on occasion, if the listing is active (not archived), the cache is most likely there whether it was placed 10 years ago or last week. When a cache does go missing, the owner is supposed to replace it or archive it, but sometimes that takes a little time. You can read the recent logs by other cachers to see how recently they searched and whether they found the cache.
  4. Thanks for the update on your plans! While I haven't used the old or new search maps often, it good to hear that enough progress has been made to consolidate it to one search map. I'm glad there will still be a way to access the browse map, but it would be nice to still have a way to go directly to it instead of going through the search map.
  5. Number of Geocaches generally isn't the problem. Number of waypoints (the name_waypoints.gpx file) can be a problem because they count towards the GPSr's total number of waypoints. My Garmin can easily hold the 29,000 caches in Washington State, but can only hold 5000 waypoints. I have become more selective in which waypoints files I copied so that they didn't instantly overfill my GPSr.
  6. I wasn't part of the original group, but a while later, I think they opened it up to everyone. The way I get to it is by starting a search (I have to hit the search button and it gives me a list of caches). Once the list of caches comes up, there's also a blue ribbon near the top of the screen with a link to "Go to new map."
  7. I'm not seeing the "Great Story" and "Helpful" buttons on the logs for every cache, but one that I do see it on has the option to sort the logs by "Newest", "Best Story", or "Most Helpful." Pretty sure no one voted on any of the logs for that cache because switching the sort option doesn't change anything.
  8. Thank you for keeping this option. Having the map rotate automatically drives me crazy.
  9. I had a little trouble finding it myself, but there is a way to opt out. In the upper right corner of the new map, click on "What's this?" and then "Learn more." In section 1.8, at the end of the third paragraph, there's a link to opt out.
  10. Bummer about the cost. If you're primarily planning to use the inReach as a satellite messenger (not for navigation), you might see if the inReach Mini would work for you. It's slightly less expensive.
  11. Photos are fine. Just not if they include the tracking number. There are some people who will use the tracking number in the photo to log the trackable and artificially inflate their numbers. Don't ask me why because I don't get it.
  12. On the topic of GeoTours, the Rainier100 GeoTour is over, but the caches were well done and about 95 of them are still active. I thought it was a really cool way to explore the area around Mount Rainier and learn some of the history of the region.
  13. If you have (or can obtain) GPS coordinates for your known points and your description gives a bearing and distance to the unknown corners, you could project a waypoint from the known point to the unknown point using the bearing and distance. Keep in mind that the coordinates shown on your GPS could easily be 20-30 feet off (or more) unless you're using very expensive survey-grade equipment. If your remaining corners are marked and you just need to get close enough to find the marker, this might not be a problem. If your remaining corners are unmarked and you need better than an approximate location for your property corners, you might look into hiring a surveyor.
  14. I agree, it's sleazy, but other options would be less convenient for me, so I still use auto-renew and promptly cancel it. On the plus side, the last time I did it, I got to fill out their little survey about why I'm canceling my Premium membership. I found it amusing to tell them that I'm "quitting" because of auto-renew.
  15. Have you tried the local library system? They might have a copy. It might be in reference materials for in-library use only, but you might be able to make a photocopy of the grid page.
  16. The wrap text problem and space between my profile pic and the message look fixed! Thank you! The "Block", "Hide", and "View Profile" text is still missing when I click the three dots. (I'm guessing that requires a different fix.)
  17. I'm having problems viewing some old messages in IE11 (I haven't tried other browsers). Some, but not all, messages have a couple of inches of white space between my profile picture and where the message text starts. Most, but not all, messages have a text wrapping problem. In those cases, it looks like the text does wrap eventually, but most of the text is off the right edge of the screen. Even spreading the window across two monitors isn't wide enough to show all the text. When I click on the three little dots to block, hide, or view profile for a conversation, the text "Block", "Hide", and "View Profile" is missing. "View Profile" appears if I place the mouse over it, but "Block" and "Hide" don't show up.
  18. Should be easy enough to fix. Just go to the cache you found on the 19th and edit the log. You will have an option to change the date. Note that your statistics may not update for 24 hours unless you log a new cache.
  19. My GPS came with a carabiner clip and I use that to clip it to my backpack shoulder strap, or a belt loop if I'm not wearing a backpack.
  20. I'm not seeing the event owner listed in the events calendar anymore. Under the event name, it says something like "by | 18.75 mi" (with a little direction arrow in front of the distance). Thanks for the continued work
  21. Hey, that's cool! I think I like it. Two things: I'm seeing up to 3 regular and/or CITO events per day (which I think is just fine, but you said it would be 2 events) and the Going Ape 2017 mega isn't showing up on 8/19, even though it's within my 100 mile radius.
  22. I didn't realize the Community feed is only 7 days. I'm glad it's working as expected and it's just the message that's confusing. Now I suppose I should find some more caches and make the message disappear!
  23. At least yours gives an obvious error. Mine ignores the "+" in my user name which sends you to someone else's profile.
  24. Under "Latest Activity," when I have it set to "Community," it's telling me I haven't logged anything in the last 30 days. When it's set to "Yours," it correctly shows the 9 caches I've found in the last 30 days. Possibly useful info: I only have one friend and they haven't found any caches in over a month.
  25. The link takes me to the "Windstorm" profile.
