Here's something 'benchmark-like' I found a few months ago. It is imbedded in some rocks that are only exposed at low tide. Any ideas what it is?

Looks like Belleterre and I are planning to head over to Gig Harbor for some follow-up caching on Sunday January 30th. There's lots of caches left to find and I'd love to get the night caches as well. Don't want to do a huge CM herd, but we could make a small group for this!

Been trying to think how to answer this... Actually, my favorite user name is one created on a MS game site once that used a random user name generator. One time I logged in and it generated 'showiest snail' I can't explain why, but that still cracks me up. But, it's kind of unwieldy. I came up with Little Blue a year or so ago for another reason and used it when I created an account for geocaching. The funny thing is, I had *no* idea that it was a name outside of your login. I guess I just never thought about it. But then I went to a WSGA meeting, and of course people used their cache names, because that's how you see posts from people. Funny how now it seems more natural to call the cachers I've met by their cache names rather than their real names! Still, it feels kind of strange to hear myself called Little Blue. Feels like I've got some kind of spy alias!

Congrats Weightman! And K7-Wave- It was a pleasure caching the machine with you and chatting in the car. Congrats on sailing by 1100!
-
Congrats luv2play! Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet ya- happy caching!

I'll wave to you from the bridge- been there, done that! My only suggestion is that it may be better to do that one when the tide is on its way *out* instead of *in*! I'm up for a return visit! Lots of good caches on that list- I'd especially like to get back to the 4 other night caches we didn't get to. They looked fun!

Drat! Hope you don't log anymore plumbing emergencies for a long while! Congrats to LRII for his 100th! I am glad I was along for the milestone and what a cache experience that was! The Jester said we should be claiming 10 smilies I would like one for every scratch and contusion I came away with! LRII, I hope your 200th will be just as memorable!

My first cache machine- wow, what fun! I met so many people, I doubt I could remember them all! I wish I had had more time to chat and visit. Gig Harbor sure has some really fun caches! Anyone want to go back with me sometime and get the ones I didn't get to?

ooh, I would love to use my snowshoes again- we've shelved them since the girls were born. Not something I'd wat to do by myself, tho...

Do you plan to get a GPSr soon? I just started in October and have had so much fun. Ok, maybe I'm a tiny bit addicted... Actually, my Garmin has been so useful for more than just caching! Glad you joined the fun!

Congrats!!! I'm sorry we missed the party last night. Glad to hear it was so much fun. We just got #350 yesterday at a very fun puzzle cache. Been enjoying the warm caching weather . But I will be glad to get back to our non mosquito infested woods .

Happy Holidays to everyone back in the NW! It started out sunny and warm here in TX, but it has turned cold the last few days and it may even snow! We are thankful to be with family and have even shown them some of the things hidden around them . Stay warm and safe everyone!

Hey Allanon- sometimes it helps to work as a team on the puzzle caches. My husband is very good at the computer/math puzzles and I like to work on the visual/language puzzles. Of course, like you've noted, there's usually no note on the top telling you which kind you're dealing with . Just like with finding the actual cache- each time you make a find you learn something new. Learn to think outside the box a little bit more. The same goes for puzzles- the coords are hidden in there somewhere, and there's many different forms they could be in. They are actually one of our favorite cache types. But by no means do we solve all of them quickly- Red Herring is an example of one that had us banging our heads on the keyboard for a long while! So this is the long way of saying- if there's a particular puzzle you'd like to work on, we'd be happy to work along with ya. We have a long list of puzzles we've solved but haven't gotten out to find yet. That's were I have trouble! And while I'd never post a spoiler in a log and ruin others' fun, I think it's fine to work with others to solve them. We're down in Houston right now and their puzles are so different from ours! It's been interesting to see all the different cache ideas.

So is there anyone going from the eastside that I could carpool with?

Oh, thanks, I'm supposed to be packing! Now my brain hurts! Really, evil supergeniuses have such poor timing...

Whoo Hoo! Congrats!

Sadness... We will be out of town. I wish I could be there! I could thank FOF for all those hours spent staring at inanimate objects over the past two months... Oh well, don't feel *too* sorry for us, we will be in (hopefully) warm Texas! Have some fun for me and hopefully there'll be another get together before long.

I think I DNFed the second cache I tried to find- Redmond Rotary Picnic Area. Got it last week for #199. I FDNFed for the first time this weekend. Multi-cache and DNF seem to go hand in hand for me... Especially if they're the 'look at the sign', or 'count the number of...' types. But quite a few of my DNFs have been MIAs, so if you don't log em, you'll never know... If I have my kids with me my DNFs go up and if I'm caching with a someone (who's a grownup!- not something I get many chances to do...) my finds are higher. Also makes a DNF more fun when you share the frustration! They bug me tho- almost like I can hear the cache taunting me... (uh oh- this is a bad sign, isn't it!) Ooh, I learned how to make a hyperlink!

Some cachers found the coords for Twiggy to be off by a bit and people posted that info in their logs. The 'wrong' area was getting a bit messed up with searching. There didn't seem to be a prob with that- guess I don't know the etiquette for when you're allowed to say when you found the coords to be different or not...So confusing when everyone has their own rules, but that's just like life I guess!
