I have a Palm m505 with a web browser on it (Eudora web). With that and a mobile phone I can access the cache pages while I'm out "in the field". Eudora has a cache (pun intended) facility so you could load up the pages at home while on line and then access them in the field without dialing up. ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too.

Hmmm.... Is it normal RAM or does it need some sort of persistence when you power down the unit. I suspect it's not the same as the RAM you find inside your computer which is part of the reason why it's so expensive. OTOH - The data cable for my eTrex has a non standard connector which to me seems a trick so they can charge £30 for it. ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too.

Just a reminder to anybody coming along who wishes to take part in the afternoon activity, to bring a serial to GPSr data cable if they want to download the waypoints from EasyGPS rather than type them all in by hand. ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too.

The release notes say you can get a location field now in big number mode and small number mode. Is it my imagination or is it not possible to get location in small number mode? ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too.

I was browsing the Garmin web site looking for the 2.26 firmware upgrade and I stumbled upon the Vista specification. The stated accuracy of the magnetic compass is ±5 degrees. If I remember correctly, mag north is about 4 degrees away from true North in this neck of the globe. This pretty much makes it irrelevant which one you use.
