I just added Turkey for you Oh, Turkey! TwoNomadicBrits, are you still in Turkey? Can I have Turkey in my Profile's Flag Counter as well? Thanks in advance! ~ Dr.MORO

Thanks NYPaddleCacher! Ireland, confirmed! Awesome favor, and a great idea to remember. ~ Dr.MORO

Same here. There are all gone from my caches & Profile. What has happened? Source code and/or web access banned by GCHQ? Okay, self-reply, and a possible fix. You need to turn off the Ad Blocker, and/or Whitelist Geocaching.com and/or flagcounter.com, then reload the page. All mine have come back, and probably others will as well.

Domo again. Could be my false alarm... Restarted my mail program, and was flooded with Geocaching emails. All good?

Domo!!! Is this issue popping up again? I have not received ANY notification of any of my Watchlist-ed caches at all, which I usually get fairly often. Anyone noticing this?

Domo!!! Just noticed tons of Found logs logged, by many different users, with logs all ending with "... Found with tips from [REMOVED]". Some of the logs are already archived, some users already locked as well. I suppose GS already know something fishy is going on. What's going on? Thanks, ~ Dr.MORO (Edit: Typos... ) (Second Edit: made URL less-harmfull, yet still obvious... Cannot change subject line, though)

Self-followup... Well, yes, is was the ad blocking extension/plugin for my browser that was doing it's job nicely, just as it is intended to do. I just had to 'Whitelist' a few web domains, and all is back to what I want to see. Hmmm, I wonder what I might have missed seeing about a few tough Puzzle cache pages... Learnt more of something new through Geocaching, again! Sorry & Thanks

Hi All! Is the flagcounter.com properly displayed in your profile or cache page? I just noticed that all of them are not displayed, although there are definitely within the HTML code: My Profile page, and all my Geocache pages. Or is this just me not seeing them? An adblock artifact? Anyone heard about geocaching.com blocking flagcounter.com? Weird...

International Geocaching Day 2015 & Souvenir?
Dr.MORO replied to Dr.MORO's topic in General geocaching topics
Thanks J Grouchy! Wow, someone must be reading my mind, at HQ... Posted just a hour ago.. Well, I don't do Social Media, except through Geocaching. So, I guess I would have only found out by the coming Geocaching Weekly Newsletter. In any case, great to know! I noticed it on my Facebook feed about an hour or so ago. Well, as said, I do not do any other Social Media, so my question was definitely NOT 'planted' by GCHQ. Good Luck & Cache On! -

Domo!!! Just wondering, any news about this year's 'International Geocaching Day 2015', and whether yes/no to it's souvenir, aside from the ongoing 6 souvenirs from the Geocaching Road Trip 2015? The International Geocaching Day Souvenir have been awarded this past 4 years to Geocache finds on the 3rd Saturday of August from 2011 through 2014 , but I think I have not heard a thing about it yet on this 15th anniversary year for Geocaching. Anything, anyone?

Hi! Is there any 'official' update on this issue? Can we all go back to using our 'Apple' email addresses again? I haven been using my Gmail alternative address since this issue started, but do NOT like how Gmail works in my Apple Mail app, and REALLY would like to go back to my Apple mail account as soon as possible. Like right now. Has anyone gone back to using their Apple email accounts again? I would like to know if this is really resolved, or otherwise I have to, although definitely do NOT want to, test the situation myself. Anyone??? Switched back a few months ago and it works just fine. Thanks sweede! I will test it out to see if all works okay.

A Guide to Searching on Geocaching.com
Dr.MORO replied to The A-Team's topic in General geocaching topics
The A-Team rules! Very nice! Now, have you not received a job offer from you-know-who yet? -
It's still there: For the world: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=1 For Alabama: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=2 And for Wyoming: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=51 state_id is alphabetic, Alabama=1, Alaska=2 up to Wyoming=51 Any list of ALL the States IDs? Also, I have asked somewhere else, but is there a a WHOLE LIST of examples how the URL syntax is written? I think this is useful for some cacher.

Release Notes (Website: New Search) - March 11, 2015
Dr.MORO replied to Geocaching HQ's topic in Geocaching HQ communications
If you're viewing the webpage of a cache hidden by the user, then you can just click on the link for "other caches found by this user". Otherwise, construct a URL like this: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul=Nylimb Replace "Nylimb" by the name of the cacher you're interested in. If the name has any spaces in it, replace them by plus signs; e.g.: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul=Angelic+Relic Other special characters in the name may have to be changed also. For example, an ampersand (&) should be replaced by "%26": http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul=johnny%26cher If you want to see caches hidden by a user instead of those found by the user, change "ul=" to "u=" in the URL. Great points, Nylimb! I know a few of these 'URL tricks' to search for what I want, yet I am definitely not sure if I know them all. Is there any list compiled to show most of these geocaching.com and coords.info "URL Syntax"? I have written a couple of convenient Apple Script applet Contextual Service Menus for personal use on my Mac, that utilize these URL text, though. Select text, right-click, and jump right to the appropriate webpage for the cache/TB. http://coord.info/[GC code or TB number] http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?tracker=[trackable's tracking number] -
Release Notes (Website: New Search) - March 11, 2015
Dr.MORO replied to Geocaching HQ's topic in Geocaching HQ communications
Are you talking about ones like Ground Zero: Swansea? If so, here's a way that works for that one: Use the new search to look for caches near "Swansea, MA". Ignore the results and look at the URL of the search results page: https://www.geocaching.com/play/search/@41.74816,-71.18977?origin=Swansea,+MA That contains the base coords for Swansea in decimal degrees format. Convert them to "DDD MM.MMM" format using (for example) the "Other Conversions" link on any cache page. Apply the offsets specified in the Ground Zero: Swansea page, and check the result using the Geochecker link. I just did that and confirmed that I have the right coords. NOTE: The fact that I'm explaining how to use the new search to do something should not be interpreted to mean that I like the new search. I do not! Thanks Nylimb! Great point! This GZ Puzzle, Solved! And, yes, I also agree that the 'new' search does not seem to be intuitive nor favored... -

Domo!!! Has anyone succeeded in solving the so called "Ground Zero" or "GZ" Puzzle caches AFTER the introduction of this Advanced search? I guess not... If someone has drawn the proper GZ coords for a certain postal code, could you please post here how you have accomplished that in detail so anyone can follow? HUGE Thanks.
