  1. Dr Moro, So you are saying the problem is in the Mac OS/iOS NOT Safari settings. I notice that Firefox seems to display things correctly. From all the info here, Safari with either Mac OS X 10 Mavericks or iOS 7, has problems showing the proper Stats page. Seems they do not go well with Google Charts. GO figure... Most others environments than that, seems to be OK, I guess. Just have to wait until BIG rivals Apple and Google somehow make it better for the consumers like us.
  2. I'll pay for your plane ticket if you come cache here. Hey The_Incredibles_! Oh, Victoria: The Capital of British Columbia, is now near the top of my locations to go Geocaching! I would LOVE to get there! And a plane ticket for my long logs, DEAL!!! I'll soon start solving Puzzles there. (Well, I'll maybe get there when I retire, whenever that is... )
  3. Domo again!!! Well, the latest Mac OS X Mavericks & iOS 7 updates have NOT fixed this issue: Still no proper showing of the Stats page using Safari... Interestingly, iOS 6 update has not affected the correct showing of the Stats page using Safari.
  4. Domo again!!! The latest updates for Mac OS X and iOS 7, has not fixed this issue. Still no properly shown Stats page. Interestingly, even after iOS 6 update, my iPod Touch & Safari still shows the Stats page fine.
  5. Domo!!! Your World's #2 Long-logger here! (according to mygeocachingprofile dot com) Just saw the post in the forum, and thought I should drop a line or 2, or 3, or... Every single 'Found' log of mine, from my first find, also has at least one picture posted with it. A picture is a thousand words, so I guess my logs are actually even much longer than the character count! The logs I post are 'My' logs. My memories associated to finding (or not finding ) the cache. Why complain about the length of it? And they are to 'share' my Geocaching experience to the others who like to seek and to hide in this great game of Geocaching. Wasn't 'sharing the experience' part of the basics of Geocaching? And some say "Too long"? Really?! Even the lamest cache out there, you first have to look it up on online, then you have go to GZ somehow, and then search for it, also sign the log sheet, and even post your 'Found' log afterwards. That alone is one genuine Geocaching experience no other than you just had. I just try to write it down in my own words for myself, yet associate it with the specific cache to share with the others interested. With just a "." or TFTC, quite a lot is lost there, very unfortunately. How was the inside of the cache? What was the weather today? See anything else out there? How did to get there? You only know. If you don't like long logs, then just don't read it. Done. Go find a cache. I like to read long logs, so also I am partly wishing that other cachers will write & share more with other cachers, by doing so myself. "Do What You Like. Like What You Do." (by Life is good) MORE is definitely BETTER! Good Luck & Cache On! ~ Dr.MORO
  6. WOW! THAT's a lot of EarthCaches visited by the Top 10! I wish I had the opportunity to find more ECs. Just over 20 finds myself...
  7. Thanks Lackey Jayme H for the post! Yep, read the email newsletter, and edited my CITO Event page to link to The Geocaching Blog. Done & submitted. And fingers crossed. So, I guess my next question is, what will this year's Souvenir look like? Just can't wait to see it! And Yes, what a beautiful top image for the CITO blog. Looks so 'warm'! Somewhere close to HQ? Oh, hope Spring comes soon, as it's 29F/-3C now, pending teens/-9C ALL DAY tomorrow here in Boston. Brrr... ~ Dr.MORO
  8. Domo again!!! Thanks Lackey Jayme H for the update. AWESOME! And perfect timing! Will start writing up this year's CITO Event Cache page soon. Boston Strong! ~ Dr.MORO (Also Groundspeak Volunteer Japanese Translator & iPhone App Beta-Tester)
  9. Domo!!! And Done. I did advertise in my Event Cache page, but I think more word-spreading is needed.
  10. Domo!!! We had a nice turnout at my Event Boston Rocks on EarthCache 10th Birthday! 27 individuals + our honorable guest Geyoda ! Unfortunately, I do not do Facebook nor Twitter (Just Geocaching!), so I cannot post our group photo there. But, please help yourself doing so using my picture posted on the Event page. Just too bad that no special 'you-know-what' awarded to any of the attendees. Boooo, GS... In any case, Happy 10th Birthday EarthCaching! ~ Dr.MORO
  11. Yep, Maps are also gone using Mac OS X 10.9.1 + Safari 7.0.1 (9537.73.11) w/Extension or not...
  12. Domo again. Sadly, seems like it's a "No Go" decision by Groundspeak... 10th Anniversary of the EarthCache - The Geocaching Blog Within the comment section below, Eric Schudiske replies to my post: "... Unfortunately there's no souvenir this time around." Boooooooo
  13. Well, a Geocaching.com is your website so you technically could fix it, but that would mean changing your site to use something other than Google Charts. You have made a business decision that the cost of the fix is greater than the cost of not fixing it. So, the problem is Google Chart not working in some Apple Safari environments, and is a know issue to developers. AND, Groundspeak made a decision not to change anything like a temporal work-around, and just wait for a fix to arrive from Google and/or Apple. I guess that means all affected cachers also just have to wait for the fix. Oh, well. Hope the giants play nice with each other.
  14. Domo again!!! Happy New Year 2014!!! And Happy 10th Birthday EarthCache!!! Groundspeak, any decision on the Souvenir yet? PLEASE...?!
  15. Domo again!!! A new post in the "The Geocaching Blog" 10th Anniversary of the EarthCache Well, at least there does seem to be a bit of festivity brewing UP there. Great sign, I guess. Just still nothing definitive about the souvenir yet... PLEASE...? [Post-edit: Typos...]
  16. Hasai (= Howdy! in Okinawan Japanese "Uchinaguchi") jbuffethed! FREE routable maps for Garmins, try this. Free maps for Garmin brand GPS devices from OpenStreetMap Read the site and how tos. I use it everywhere I've gone to, US & Japan. If problems using them, give me a PM (Personal Message) from my Profile page. I probably can help. Good Luck & Cache On!
  17. Still no word on the souvenir, sadly... Anyone up there listening? Anyways, de jonge prinsen, found it with help from fellow cacher foragess here. EarthCache 10th Birthday Geocoin and Tag Set - 5 (five) pack
  18. Domo again!!! More data points New data Mac OS X 10.8.5 + Safari 6.1.1 (8537.73.11) w/Extension or not = Stat bars showing! Mac OS X 10.8.5 + Firefox 26.0 = Stat bars showing! Mac OS X 10.8.5 + Google Chrome 31.0.1650.63 = Stat bars showing! iPad (3rd gen) + iOS7 Safari = NO Stat bars showing... plus Original data Mac OS X 10.9.1 + Safari 7.0.1 (9537.73.11) w/Extension or not = NO Stat bars showing... Mac OS X 10.9.1 + Firefox 26.0 = Stat bars showing! Mac OS X 10.9.1 + Google Chrome 31.0.1650.63 = Stat bars showing! iPod (4th gen) + iOS6 Safari (cannot up to iOS7...) = Stat bars showing! Definitely something fishy about the newest versions of Safari and OSs...
  19. Domo again!!! Self-reply, and adding more data points to nail down this issue. New data: iPod (4th gen) + iOS6 (cannot up to iOS7...) = Stat bars showing! Mac OS 10.9.1 + Firefox 26.0 = Stat bars showing! Mac OS 10.9.1 + Google Chrome 31.0.1650.63 = Stat bars showing! Original data Mac OS 10.9.1 + Safari 7.0.1 (9537.73.11) = NO Stat bars showing... More testing result from different environments once back at home...
  20. Domo!!! Moderator, merge topic with the mentioned one, maybe? Thanks for your dedication to this wonderful game!
  21. Domo!!! Same here, sorta. Mavericks & Safari used. Very sporadic results, though. Mostly DO NOT display, but sometimes DO... Weird. I haven't tried other combinations yet. OS (Mac & iOS), browsers, plugins, etc.) Will do later, now that I know others are also facing the same issue. I'll be watching this forum.
  22. G'Day Calypso62! Oh, we all WISH we could join you down there... One day... Unfortunately, due to limitation of resources, we'll celebrate in the dead cold Winter up here. http://coord.info/GC4VMMZ Happy Holidays!
  23. Domo again! Event description ready, and waiting a bit longer for any good to news to add. I really hope 'they' up there are not sitting on the final decision whether or not to award a Souvenir during this holiday break. PLEASE, Groundspeak! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! BTW, I read the email sent from earthcache@geosociety.org about this EarthCache 10th Birthday, and they mentioned also about the special EarthCache 10th Birthday Coin and Tag. I still cannot seem to find them neither at Landsharkz and Shop Geocaching. Anyone know where and when can we purchase these? I need to fetch a few for myself, AND for the EarthCache 10th Birthday Event cache raffle. Thanks, ~ Dr.MORO
