Sure, I've seen some 'healthy responses' and constructive criticism, but amongst those posts seem to be a lot of whining from people who don't appear to be 'prospective customers' as long as there's any kind of pricetag attached.

Thanks, parkrrr! I've removed those you've mentioned from the list. (And you're right, I didn't take the time to read the descriptions.) I appreciate you checking them out. Also, I checked the correct link to the Scott Creek Multiple cache (from my original thread), and found it to similar to those you've mentioned above, so I removed it as well.

Due to technical problems with the conversion to the new forums, I'm starting over on the thread that was originally listed here (and somehow got duplicated here), with various errors in both places. Rather than continuing two duplicate chains of replies, let's regroup and make a fresh start here.

On second look, maybe it's just as well that I couldn't close out the other copy of this thread. That one has the opening message messed up, so only two of the original links show up...and no quote that explains what prompted the thread in the first place.
I'm definitely thinking starting a fresh thread looks like the way to go.

Hmmm...good question. I tried to close out the other one, but it won't let me, since it doesn't recognize me as the owner anymore. Along those same lines, I don't get e-mail notifications anymore when someone adds a new post to the forum.
Maybe I should start a new thread for this topic, and ask Jeremy to close out these old ones. What do you think?

I find it amazing how many people are willing to reap the advantages of other people's hard work, but act outraged when something extra is offered at a nominal fee...even when nothing is being taken away from them. It's as if they think they are owed free services.
I can only imagine how frustrating it is for people like Jeremy to get so little thanks for their efforts. I applaud (and thank) him for having stuck with it, despite the poor attitudes many have exhibited.

No, I haven't noticed that. I myself haven't paid...but I still find myself steamed by seeing so many people whining about "having to pay". No one is being forced to pay! I haven't noticed people trying to "defend themselves", but rather stating their confusion at what you are so upset about.

How will it help you if they remove the ability for people to hide mocaches? If someone's not comfortable having a publicly exposed cache, they simply won't hide one...as has currently been the case. Allowing mocaches means there will be additional caches out there. It's not likely any current caches will be converted over (unless a person or area is having trouble with stolen or vandalized caches...in which case I would hope that even you would empathize with them not wanting to donate their work and investment into placing a cache just to have a vandal ruin it).
