  1. ...Oxford to Portsmouth 5.00am for work, will cache down there for a couple of hours..returning afternoon..silly time to leave..up for it!...Happy belated Birthday
  2. Welcome....your doomed! ...if you have a gerden it will now become a forest..no time for mundane things like mowing the lawn...only time for caching.Guided mode is to help with these pages..egBigREDCache.....uyour next purchase will need to be a GPS...maybe someone on these forums might have a spare to sell you?...happy hunting..
  3. I use a Legend. If it is getting a weak signal the compass will not spin. The feet may be counting down or you may be moving away!.I always take a compass just to let me know if it is lying to me.In the woods you can get lost as it wont pick up any signal so it is lost itself....very scary. What I tend to do when within 100ft count 30 steps..you are pretty close, walk away and approach from another direction. You have then pinpointed the location. On the Sat page there is the option of `North up` or `track up`.I have noticed that on `1Noth up` the compass on Sat page dont move, only on the Nav page.If you set it to `Track up`,both Sat page and Nav page move.Thats the way I like it,but each to there own.If you are still having problems,eg...no sat at all,or very erratic(I had that once, kept telling me all the satilites had fallen out of the sky!)Garmin will suggest a Hard reset and upgdate...I used to know how to do it but I have forgot! ,but I am sure another cacher will fill you in on this as I was told how to do it by a fellow cacher in the Forums!...it works!..hope this helps........TTW... how do you calibrate your compass again?.
  4. Thanks Guys and Girls for Congrates...still recovering from the walk from `The Ring` ..and i was driving ..its not quantity now..Its about quality,...`The Ring` does exactly what it says on the tin..Bye.
  5. I read the forums when get time between caching ....it is a great source of advice...type in your question and in no time at all your will find a fellow cacher who knows the answer...very rarely do I know the answer ..Hi Moote..welcome again..for the 1631th time!
  6. This would seem to be the fair way of doing things....I have tried to break the 24 hour record myself and it is no easy feat(I failed..fell asleep! ).It would be a breeze in the job i do for a living to smash that record, which I dont think it is very fair to the current holders who worked the legs off and have well dererved the record...........lets just make 2 records MM 24hour Record and non MM 24hours Record...Bye
  7. Mega Congrates to you Tony...heres to many more

  14. I have had the same trouble before,it was something to do with the brackets?.Try this page out..WebMonkey....gives you the basics. You can copy and paste from this site and it works geo.com.plus you`ll find the colour codes very handy.I made my profile from this site. But please be aware of what John says... ..loads of pictures slows things down big style.Hope this help,Bye
  15. Good on you DRC,never seen so many cachers all in one place ...never seen so many different types of coins....mmmmmmmmmm.....coins.Heavy weight bash that one.Nice one Dude....catch ya on the otherside,Bye
  16. you beat me..only 2...UK and Holland..there again I only done a couple in Amstredam!.
  17. If you know for sure that the TB with be picked up..eg,out caching with friends who have got the bug in there possession but you both found the cache, thats cool If you have a hotel and the bugs have been sitting there for a little while, but you know it will be visited soon, its good to that the owners know they are safe by logging in and out....proves they have not gone walkies. I admit that I am one of those cachers that log a TB in and out of a cache for mileage..thats because I am the TB!,recording my mileage and cachers I meet along the way...sorry but i cant not get into one of them little boxes....any cachers that sets a cache the size of a flat....I might just log myself in and not out.
  18. did someone say coin...be round to collect in the morning..lol..
  19. Tracker as a Mobile Phone..a camera,Mugglers dont give you a second glance. As with regards being muggled..they do,but the really good hidden ones seem to stay in place..the ones that you can get to fast,in a place where no muggler looks...walk away from cache site....then return it fast...job done!......stealth....it means exactly what its says on the tin!.
  20. When visiting another cache, just say in your log report, dropping Canadian coin Geo Coin,it will not show on the listing, but other cachers and the owner will know its in there.Happy Hunting...there are many to collect!..check my profile for an idea of the different types..this is not a big up for me ,just some friendly info ...I love coins
