  1. Whole lot of assuming going on here. People assuming that people are or aren't flipping over the log book. I really don't see it as a regional thing though and can't see how anyone would.
  2. I cache for the fame, glory and fortune. And the respect of my peers.
  3. Hence a mac is useless.
  4. I have two caches placed. The first is set in a nice park that I didn't know about and I was surprised others didn't also. It was a nice cammo'd lock and lock with some nice trinkets in it. The second was a micro in a spruce tree. I love to find ammo cans while on a hike but sometimes I like to find caches while I am "working". I will try to give back what I get. (still carrying around a nice ammo can stocked and ready to go in the back of my SUV. Just need a good spot to put it. You know... historical and such)
  5. That should be the guideline... My mother can get very profane at times though... I do believe in the spirit of the guideline though.
  6. I just found a cache that is in the V where a very busy street splits. The cache itself was on a utility pole, right next to the street where cars were whizzing by almost non-stop. While I tried to act nonchalant, there's only so stealthy you can be when about a few hundred people have seen you poking around a completely open strip of grass, right next to the street. I'd feel bad if someone got curious about what I was doing and came along after me and messed with the cache, but there's only so much you can do on some caches. Indeed, I feel the cache safety is a 50/50 split between the cache owner and the cache finder. I will do my best to not be seen and hide it back where I found it. You do your best to make sure that is possible.
  7. I might be willing to drop a few near the Canadian border but that's as far as I go... Stupid new passport requirements!! Drop some around San Francisco. No passport required to come here from Oregon Just don't forget to put some flowers in your hair.
  8. I might even be tempted to not even ask the owners of the house and just go look for it. Of course you said it was between the house and garage so they might notice someone in the middle of the night digging there. Ya, your way is probably the best. But then if they said no, I would wait till they left the house and go for it. And probably end up in jail.... as is my luck.
  9. That makes me cry on the inside but laugh on the outside. I hope you got to share the Frito's though.
  10. Darn... I coulda been "BruceHeroin." Actually, with your avatar, and your location, you could have been "Bruceki" Already my nickname among friends unfortunately. (not only because of avatar and location. I am also part Russian and part Ukrainian) I had no idea what your name meant until someone mentioned it and I looked it up. Kinda cool. I may read further.
  11. Try to submit a cache that is too close to another or is buried beneath an active railway line that runs over a bridge near a government office. They will contact you. (kidding!)
  12. I would recommend neither. Take the high road. *** I don't always follow my own advice even though it is usually good.
  13. Possibly the coolest signature item I have seen... Hint Hint... I might like to get one.
  14. I used to have a neighbor that mixed Concrete powder with bird feed and put it in a bird house. The idea being that it would harden in the birds stomach and block the digestive tract. I was horrified. I daily removed his bird houses from his yard until he moved away. And I don't even like birds. Oh that's sick... I was joking about the Ipecac. What an awful thing for your neighbor to do!! Glad you removed the birdhouses. I knew you were joking. Sorry if my post implied you were an animal hater. As I said.. i don't even like birds but he was an a - hole And no animal should die that way.
  15. What does NIPS mean?? You know how sometimes you get cold and there are two things on your chest that poke out? I was gonna say that but I was afraid to go to banned camp again.
  16. Ive found most of mine without a GPS since some people don't think an iPhone is a "real" GPSr. I do however have a "real" GPSr but rarely use it. It pretty much stays in the glove box unless I want to place a hide.

  18. Indeed. It would take a paralyzing accident to slow me down. (note: I said slow me down, not stop. I am already slightly handicapped (no, not mentally))
  19. Darn... I coulda been "BruceHeroin."
  20. +1 My old signature comes to mind "if this cache is so lame, why are you here?" Yes but sometimes you don't know something is lame until you do it. ***I know this because I have an ex-wife
  21. Before I got an iPhone i was caching about once a week. Now that I have an iPhone, I cache almost daily. I am a courier and drive about 9 hours a day in a very cache rich city and surrounding towns (about 200 KMs a day). If I have a few minutes to spare I fire up the phone and search for nearby caches and go for them. I try to find at least one a day but some days I don't have the free time or DNF. Other days I find 2-6 in one day while working. That's the solution! Become a courier and wait for a slowing down economy so you have free time while working! (the working for commission part kinda hurts but meh)
  22. I tried doing this with erotic novels, but it was poorly received. That would be a novel I would not like to read.
  23. lol Case in point. Actually when you make rude comments. then you are rude and off topic. If this is the qualification to be a non newbie... then I don't want to be.
