  1. fizzymagic, if you are running the greasemonkey addon for firefox this little script might help http://www.mad-prof.co.uk/files/kill_lightbox.user.js. It is a script I knocked up for myself as I find lightbox annoying as well.
  2. Bison tube in a pine coin on a pine tree. The only give away was the metal hoop on the branch.
  3. A good place to view OS maps is actually at http://www.bing.com/maps/ (from the OS thread). Zoom in close enough and you change the road view to Ordance Survey. I find the viewing here better the the OS getamap.
  4. A couple of ones from the NE GC14A34 Traveller's Choice (2.0/2.0) - just off the A19 near Sheraton GCTH0P Motorway Mayhem A1(M) Washington (1/1.5) - at the motorway services
  5. Just manage to play through the tutorial cartridge on a Palm T3 with the 0.3.92 version using IBM java environment Things to note for others. 1) To connect to a bluetooth gpsr choose "Serial port" and "rfcm" 2) Connect the the gps before playing and disconnect connect before exiting openwig. 2) Saving does take a bit of time - don't think the palms have ever been quick at writing to SD cards. Thanks for this, I'll try out some other cartridges - probably the play anywhere ones as the current closest location based ones are a far travel away.
  6. Email sent. Went right past one of them, until I spotted the other half then had to go and hunt for it again.
  7. From what I can see on the Tom Tom web site, you have to select Mobile Phone as the product, a few IPAQs are listed under there. Hopefully one of these is your IPAQ model. I have to do similar but select one of the Palm PDA's. http://www.tomtom.com/products/maps/select...;SD=94&M=17 should take you straight to the page with the first IPAQ in the list already selected. Hope this helps.
  8. Hey guys im writing an article about Geocaching for my schools paper and I need some quotes from a few people. If you could answer the following questions and leave your name, city where you live, and your profession I would appreciate it. 1. How did you originally hear about geocaching? Not sure, I think I must have heard or read something a while a ago. 2. Why did you want to get involved? The extra motivation to get out of the house and get some exercise rather than sitting in front a computer all day every day. I live near Durham, UK and work in IT Support Services.
  9. In my case having only started 6 days ago I didn't recognise an item as a trackable. I had tried reading the text with it but as it appeared to be in german, which I don't speak or read, I left it alone. Felt this was the best policy. Only realised it was a trackable item after browsing the forums several hours later. I know what to look for a bit better now.
