  1. Thanks to both of you! I may have to head to the surplus, as I sent a PM to BN&Z a little while back about the cans and didnt hear anything back from them. Cheers!
  2. I know that we have members in the Seattle / Bellevue / Farther North areas who have had ammo cans for sale, but do we happen to have anybody in the South End / Tacoma area that may be willing to part with a couple any time soon? or anyone heading in this direction from elsewhere who may?
  3. 100% spot on. Ive stopped reading the forums daily, and now check in once a week at best to see if theres anything useful.
  4. I like the way you think!
  5. that's what I say too. I only mentioned everybody that was giving "advice" give a buck instead so we could just end this thread.
  6. Wow. There have been times in my life where I have had to live paycheck to paycheck, and I don't think I ever had anyone be so condescending to me as that came across. Sometimes, times are tough, and "advice" like that is just plain rude. Granted, a number of the responses in this thread can be viewed as such, but that seems to be par for the course here. (Ahem) While it is easier to paint wide strokes with a broad brush, please bear in mind (and read through the thread) that not everyone has been on the "lets kick a guy when he's down" train. Several Forum posters have attempted to work behind the scenes to try to better the situation without causing the OP any more grief. So maybe its not "par for the course" just a select group of golfers you refer to. Apologies. Totally agreed. I'll respon in PM so as not to derail this thread further. Cheers!

  8. Out of curiosity, what browsers were you using?
  9. "Dear Cacher, There is a dangerous way to get to this cache, and a safe way. I strongly discourage the dangerous method. Please approach using the safe method." How is this different from saying "There is parking 200 yards down the road from cache XXX. Please do not attempt to cross the street, as it is an extremely busy road" ?
  10. Homer: Or what? You’ll release the dogs, or the bees, or the dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you? Well, go ahead—do your worst!
  11. I have NEVER looked for a cache on company time. Mostly because I've been unemployed since I started caching.
  12. A few cans of Bodingtons would like to note that Carrickfergus is an amusing name to say aloud. <.< >.> Back On Topic!
  13. The side of the coin being, his home (Brittania Manor), however, is a rather well known landmark in Texas. It was featured on MTv Cribs, Lifestyles of The Rich And Famous, and was the site of a world famous Halloween haunted house for over a decade. To call Richard Garriott eccentric is understating things.
  14. The cache placer is a bit of an eccentric public figure. I would not be at all surprised if he placed those on a puppet account.
  15. I'd be a whole lot more worried about what the Flight Attendants will think when they see you setting it up. They can be a fairly jump lot, from time to time.
  16. ...I hope you were being sarcastic because your first sentence is frowned upon by grounspeak, if not a joke. We Portlanders stick together and are seldom wrong. Groundspeak frowns upon sighing?! You lucky Portlanders know all the inside info! *snicker* I thought the same when I read that.
  17. Do yourself a favor, and spend the $0.99 or so per, and grab some of these from WalMart (or wherever in your area sells outdoor supplies). They make all the difference in the world.
