  1. I have had over 80 tags made for myself and many more for other people. I have made coins with them for the military and have designed a couple that they sold in the store. I have NEVER had a problem that they weren't more than happy to rectify.

You said you DIDN'T get the September coin from them? But it's on your profile page and you activated it on the 15th of October.

Is Geocacher Magazine still being published?

I would really like to know if it is. My wife bought me a subscription after GW6 and I haven't seen a single copy. I have tried emailing them as has my wife, they're not very good at getting back with folks.

  3. I HAD A HORRIBLE DAY!.

Today, I found out my company is being "acquired" by another BIGGER company. (that never works out well)

I slipped and fell on the ice and wacked my skull pretty good. (most likely have a concussion - since I am actually posting in the forums).

My PC stopped working - funny so did the warranty!

The dinner I had left in the crockpot never cooked (I guess you really do need to plug it in)

    THEN, I CAME HOME AND...

I opened my mailbox and found a MYSTERY COIN!

That was so cool. This showed me that people REALLY ARE good!

    Thanks for the AWESOME coin!

Did I mention it was AWESOME!

Made my day! (I think I'll go to the hospital now)

  4. People collect different things for all different reasons. There are many people that make geocoins for their signature items.

I considered doing a geocoin in August of last year. I did the design, worked through a couple of iterations of the icon and quoted the whole thing out to the tune of US$1399.00 for 250. WOW! and I was ready to do it, too.

Then I found out about a new thing called PATHTAGS. They are about the size of a quarter, the cost was US$99 for the die and first 25 tags, and then $99 for the next 100. I thought it was a great deal for what was going to be a personal item anyway.

I have 8 designs now and have traded for over 150 of the existing designs as well. I don't think I would have been able to afford that if I were doing geocoins.

BTW - Pathtags ARE trackable to an extent, not on GC but through Pathtags.com. You can see who has logged your tag and where they logged them at (coordinates). It's still early but I can see this really taking off. We Love em!
