I got a great deal on a Dell Axim pocketpc and bought it. Anybody else have one they are using? I don't plan on using it for the actual hike as I will drop it into a vat of hot lava and have to explain it to my wife. I have an explorist for that. I am figuring out how to use the bluetooth and the wireless card and am amazed at the level of education (not!) that the salespeople have at the cellphone stores. Is anyone using bluetooth via their phone?

I am ordering 400 of the metal coins today. I still haven't heard back from the wooden nickel company at this point. I will let everyone know about the payment once I get closer to getting them back from the mint.

I contacted a company this morning about the wooden nickels and I hope to get a bid back in the next day or two. I don't expect them to be too expensive since I will be buying a boatload of them.

I would trade or make a good offer for a Moun10bike first edition if anyone has one they don't want anymore!

We have two coins (The North Dakota and PaNoWeGe Kids Cache Coin) that would be perfect for this group! Ok, well, I want to join the group AND sell them to myself

They are not trackable. There is a number on the back that we will use to make mystery caches where you will need the coin to finish solving the puzzle. I hope that others will do the same and make caches with the numbers so there will be multiple PaNoWeGe caches throughout the US (and world too?). I put www.geocaching.com on the back of the coins to give the kids some direction of where to go. When we are caching we are constantly running into kids asking us about it and this way it will be an easy way of directing them to the website. After reading Pepper's comments I may have to add another coin with a girl's design on the front. I can hardly wait to have the barbie doll coin show up and put that in my son's caching pack and tell him it is his

I tried to convince them they needed to put a nice barbie doll on the coin but for reason the boys wouldn't go for it They love hotwheels so that was appropriate I guess...

I don't have my costs yet for the coins or the nickels yet but will post as soon as I know. I expect the nickels to be cheap as I am going to order 1000 of them

I think it is because you have to have excel on your computer to get the link to order. I will email you the costs etc if you ask how much shipping etc is for the coins.

I forgot to add that the wooden nickels will be available sometime too. I haven't ordered those yet!

My 9yo KE has finished the design on the new coin for kids (or adults acting like kids!). The name of the coin is PaNoWeGe. This is from an ancient language meaning "Master finders of hidden treasures". The treasure could be the cache, the time spent with the family hiking, a rock, a frog, you name it! We are a family of PaNoWeGe's and we are proud of it! I plan on hiding Kids Caches in the Pacific Northwest where you will have to own the coin or know what the numbers are from the back of the coin to find it. These will be required to fill out the latitude/longitude numbers on a mystery cache. I will encourage others across the world to do the same so the kids will be able to find their special cache! I know the kids will not want to part with their metal coins. What we are doing instead is to put the exact design on wooden nickels so they can have the metal coin in their collection and be able to drop the wooden nickel in the cache. I am going to have our kids put their names on the back too in marker for the heck of it also. If you are interested in ordering the coins please feel free to post it here. We expect the coins ready for delivery by the middle of next month.

I actually have a current design and will post it shortly. My thoughts are to have a metal coin for the kids to keep and a wooden nickel to drop in the cache. On the back it would be blank so the kids could sign their cache name on it! I am also having some numbers engraved on the back and I plan on hiding some caches where you have to have the coin in order to find them! My goal would be to encourange every child that buys the coin to hide a kids cache so wherever we go we could search for that special kids cache!

I am ordering some extra for those that haven't ordered any yet.
