  1. Most of the caches in the lower (south of 54) are along the Florida Trail, trail is marked with orange blazes. North of 54 you more or less make your own trails. Circle B, Gator Creek and Colt Creek SP all have well marked and maintained trails. Circle B and Gator Creek are environmental lands so most of the caches are just off the trails.

  2. You should also consider Circle B (GCNKD9) and Gator Creek (GCNKD9) both are environmental lands properties and well maintained. The Upper Hillsborough is nice, very rustic, no hiking trails but no hunting there. If you are looking for numbers, check out the Easy series (GCNXV8)

    1. Lake Parker eastern shore "power trail". Easy finds, good for the numbers

    2. Lake Hollingsworth (my FIL walks it on occasion) A lot of people use this lake, not many caches to look for.

    3. Lakeland Highland Scrub - looks interesting... Nice place, one of the higher points in Lakeland, think beach sand

    4. Carter Park Trails - also looks inviting. Watch out for the mountain bikes, old phosphate pits, there is a night cache out there and a few caches.

    Hope this helps.

  3. I am going on vacation to Orlando FL next month and have downloaded a number of caches in that area but was hoping those of you that live or have cached in that area (say a 30 mile radius) would be able to give me some advice as to which caches I should go out of my way to look for. I would rather not hit a bus stop park and grab cache when I could be checking out a cool state park with gators or see some neat local land mark like that B-52 cache by the airport.

I will likely do some caching with my son (he will be 5 by then), so family friendly ones would be welcome. And I may do some on my own so difficult terrain, fun adventure ones are welcome as well. My wife and I both love nature and I am hoping to check out some caches that highlight the best parks and wildlife in the area. We will be staying in Orlando for a week and will of course be hitting the big sights so I am already planning on doing most of the virtual caches at the theme parks. Driving a bit to find a great cache is not a problem either, but it is unlikely we will be doing any 3 hour drives just to hit a cache. Thanks for any info you guys can put together for me. :)

Oh yea, all kinds of caches are welcome as well.

If anyone has any info about the caches in the Destin area that would be great as well. I will be going there in June.

Post a note on the Tallahassee Geocachers forum, they should be able to help you. http://www.tagfla.com/

  4. There used to be two night caches near Tallahassee, the one closest to Tally was "Tallahassee Panther Hunt Night Cache" (GCHWHZ). The other was more west of town, "Lions Track Night Cache" (GCJHKE).

They have both been archived, however, the Lions Track cache has been republished as "Lions Track" (GC1MBRY).

  5. I just tried to log a "played" log and this is the error message I got...
