  1. For the Ocotillo Wells Event on Sat................ A bunch of us will be setting up camp on Main St., hopefully, we can save some space and maybe get a cabana or two................hopefully.......... Our banner will be somewhere there also, so you can look for that if you wish. If you want a campfire, we all need to bring a stick of wood to contribute..............or two sticks of wood...or... We will be there before noon on Friday, along with Team Reid. If the Jeeps are there, we should be too. if not, we're out playing.. Should be lots of fun. The Splashes
  2. We're working on it. We will have the banner with us tho, so you can look for that if all else fails! Splashette
  3. Honk!! But I thought it was archived .... Archived? No, Janie is just fine except for the new aqueduct that's in her driveway. ... she's old but she ain't archived yet. Hope she opts for cryo'-storage and that they post her final coordinates so's we can go see her after she's gone. Should make a nice Geocach- ing event don't y' think? Couldn't resist posting that two-frame, vertical panorama of Janie that was taken long ago. It surprised me to see that I shot two frames for a vertical panorama and that the result could easily be processed with a pixel-masking technique to enhance the otherwise dull sky. Finding pleasure with Photoshop CS4 will seem strange to most readers, I know, but it works for me. Rainy days find me digging through the considerable photo archives that I keep. You know, on rainy days it's fun to stroll down memory lane. I'll bet that the water-fall at that location is wortth seeing right now. Note to Self: Yeah, I know, get a life ... but why don't people applaud really good images? ... th' color, th' sharpness? I guess I'm wrong then. I thought it was J&J's archived "Below The Falls" cache near Twin Peaks off Honey Springs Road... Before that I thought it might be Duncan!'s Helo Pad cache in Santee... Yes indeed, J&J's near Twin Peaks, you got it right. Holy Tamales! I had to really look at that one before I remembered where we were..........hunting for nuns I believe? Yep, I bet that's a great spot to see right about now. Just before this, you BBQ'd Jodi's rat cache..........ahh, it's all coming back to me now............... if only I could remember yesterday................ Splashette
  4. This is where the 'Tireasaures' live as posted in my previous logs! It's also an area that I know I will have to visit in the near future! Splashette Janie, you've got that right girl. Ain't nothin' worse than being caught and squeezed by a Tireasaur ... once they encircle you and inflate it's lights out. On the other hand a lion will leave you alone once he has a loose arm or leg to gnaw on. Ain't nature grand? Yep, nature is grand! Hey, what were you doing on THAT side of the pond..huh? I hope you didn't cross those little white signs with a cache in your hand! Just can't wait to do your new 'hill of marbles'.............. Splashette
  5. This is where the 'Tireasaures' lives as posted in my previous logs! It's also an area that I know I will have to visit in the near future! Splashette

  10. We can send you one Moose...........Need an address and a disclaimer from you........... That, NO pictures showing said sticker will be taken with that Green Jeep stuck in the sand again............. Maybe I'll have Flagman write this up just in case!! The Splashes
  11. Chuy!, you are amazing. The wonderful thing about you and the other local front-runners is that you cover the tough trails and mountains and so often in the dark. Applause-applause! I'll just bet that Ginger! is barking down from dawg-heaven in celebration of your grand achievement. Note to Self: Gawd, that Yrium-card layout is terrific. Chuy! is amazing! A true pioneer among the San Diego caching community! We have always admired Chuy and one day hope to go to most of the places that he has already explored! We love the photo of you and your family and are glad that others had the opportunity to witness this awesome milestone! 10,000 thanks. Guess what's on HBO right now? 10,000 BC. Add our congratulations and a big WOOOHOOO too..........oh wait, we all live in Lakeside.........change that to a big YEEEEHAWWW!! You never do the easy ones, and even cleared out the S. side of I-8 all the way to the AZ border at one time on the sly (wonder why?) Thanks for the countless lifelines and all the happy times on the trails!!!! Steve & Janie
  12. Very cool! We loved it!!!! The Splashes
  13. Hey! no fair, I've been driving through the back country with my sweet bride. Harmon 5 hours 20 minutes left Considering the post was placed on 12/11/09 then this will be a tough one for those of us folks without a time machine. Oh great!!!now our loophole has been discovered....ok, I'll change the date Sitting here thinking and it occured to me that our cache GC17E9E hasn't been found since March 8th which is Mrs.Kwver's! birthday...no caches have been posted in our neighborhood today so for someone daring here is a 5 hour 50 minute challenge...Find GC17E9E before 12:01am 12/12/09...log it and take a picture of yourself and the log...and you win $20.00...First time finders only! Hey Now! I would like a shot at the 20 bucks too but I am 6,200 miles away in Switzerland (dadgum it's COLD here). I am sorry I'll be missin out on the crisp Jackson. Worse yet I'm missing out on the AWESOME Christmas Walk today (it's Saturday here already) Have a fine time tonight for those who'll be attending the Shinding with Team Reid!! So Bill............how did the Jeep do in all that snow???? Splashette
  14. Honk!! Man, that car is really a ways out there, isn't it!! Yeah, tell me about it .., and those danged deer trails too! Looks like a good spot for a cache to us!
  15. They are On Fire!!!! Thanks everybody! Have to tell ya tho, the only thing on fire right now are all of our lower extremities! Three weeks to clear everything out, 79 caches we needed, and almost 53 miles of hiking, including 12.8 miles yesterday in mtrp trying to beat the rain! We found the final two that we needed this morning. Thanks to Tom for the kick 'in the back of our laps' to get us out there on those great trails!! And, no Harmon, they wouldn't let me in the park with my lawnmower! The Splashes
  16. Sounds great!! And I'm planning on going. Shouldn't you two be out hiking today? Yep, that was the plan, however...........we don't like mud bogging/hiking.........so hiking hopefully will be tomorrow! Hoping the dirt is soaking up the rain! We'd hate to slide all the way off of Fortuna! Splashette
  17. Just wondering if anybody is planning on going to Geo Woodstock VIII on July 3........in Carnation, WA???? It would be a great trip if we could all stay at the same place, or at least near each other. I think that reservations will need to be made shortly to assure rooms, etc.. They have hotels, etc. on the registration page that you can access from the cache page. GC1QM7K.............. What do ya think??? The Splashes
  18. You guys are our heros!! Just can't imagine finding a cache every day for 3.9 years............WOW! We remember you talking about the crazy routes you took home from work so that you could grab a cache. Chuy! said it best, " I choose to celebrate the streaks's duration, for it had a life of it's own!" Congratulations J&J!!!!............................................................now you can RELAX ~ The Splashes
  19. Great job, jahoadi & john!!! Wow!!! Right on!!!! Splashette
  20. I'm in..when? Do snakes come out at night? Put me down for the SMACKDOWN also, never want to miss one of those! Bon Bons all around............WOOHOO!!! Splashette
  21. My gosh, we did this cache waaaaaay back when..........(when dinosaurs roamed the dez) Anyway, we'd be up for a return visit, it's a cool spot if you don't fall in a mine shaft! Hopefully, we can remember how we got there, but I do know we came up from our place at the river in Cibola, the drove almost all the way to Erenberg on a dirt road, and went in from there. There is also a road in from the 95 side, south of Quartsite, but we're not familiar with that. Keep us posted! The Splashes
  22. Uh...is this what you are sayin'? Uhm ... anybody know how to delete Forum Threads? Thanks a lot James ... know what I'm sayin'? Just leave a message ... I'll be away for a little while. hey that's my cache he's cooking...now I'm mad....Harmon you are in SOOOOO much trouble. Janie is a push-over, but picking on The FatCats? Oh no............how could you? Ohhh,Myyyy, Gawsh.................. I totally forgot about the time $kimmer and I were arrested by the CHP...............in my driveway! Then there's the 'Dingy' picture (you know who paid for that one)..........the 'Does this make my butt look big' drive by cache (You know who was banned from all backseat riding after that one), and the most appropriate one is the 'strangulation' pic.............that one was for everyone featured in such a nice way on the forums! There are lots more like that one, but it is the only one caught on film! Ain't it great to have such a good pal! (??) I can't belive that James found all those............ Splashette
  23. Honk!! And don't tell anyone, but I ignored it (or another one like it) at one point to take advantage of the nice, smooth road... Yep, we were wondering what all of those bike tracks and footprints were doing on that nice gravel road today! Of coarse, we obey all signs............................Oops........... The Splashes
