  1. Can you not simply read the spec of the gpsr? Anyway, a program like GSAK (http://www.gsak.net/) can download caches directly to your GPSr, even if it cannot accept gpx directly. I use it to load caches into my ancient, but reliable, Garmin GPS12. Hope this helps.

  4. Due our planning to move to Birmingham I am putting all my caches (in the Binfield, Bracknell area) up for immediate adoption. We are not sure of a moving date having only just started the process but I anticipate if they are not adopted by the end of August I will have to archive them. There are 21 of them. Anyone interested in taking some or all of them please send me a private email. Many thanks Geoff
  5. Hi I have just acquired an HP IPAQ114 and am wondering about using it for paperless caching using a bluetooth GPSr. Can anyone advise me on which is the best GPSr and which maps would be the best to use? Many thanks Geoff
  6. When you say that is stores PQs, does that mean that there is a Cachemate type application for the iPhone.I am researching which is best - Blackberry or iPhone. I use an old Palm and Cachemate, but the screen is wearing out. My old GPS12 is faithful and accurate so I am not looking for a smartphone to take of GPS responsibilities. I simply want a PDA with Wi-Fi so I can take it on holiday, rather than my laptop, and log caches after every trip using the hotel Wi-Fi. It is a fight between the Blackberry and the iPhone. Any thoughts? Many thanks. Geoff
  7. Runs fine for me in 64 Bit Windows 7 and Firefox 3.5.6 It was for me a few days ago. Can't think what has gone wrong. It worked once this evening and every other time it has crashed Firefox. It runs under IE8 but takes such a long time to load in FF that it crashes. I have tried to see whether any recently added addons are affecting it but can find none. The macro itself runs the default browser. Is there any way of modifying the macro to select browser?

  9. When I first started running Windows 7 this macro appeared to work, but now it doesn't - it crashes Firefox. What is more, the html file which it tries to load from my user/roaming/gsak/macros. does not exist. Can anyone help?
  10. Suddenly, a few moments ago gc.com seems to have gone down. Service Unavailable -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. Anyone else getting this?
  11. I have fixed. I went to the pinned resources link and installed the latest ones from there and everything works well. Must remember this for next time! Thanks.
  12. I have just completely rebuilt my PC running Windows 7, and also using FF 3.5.5. I don't seem to be able to get the Greasemonkey Scripts running - Forum tools, map enhancer etc. I seem to remember that the order in which they are run is important. Can anyone tell me what it should be? I have, in order of running: Geocaching Forum Tools GC Bag-o-Tricks Geocaching Enhanced OS Map Substituter Geocaching Map Linker Geocaching Thumbnails GC More Maps GC Forum Fix I am using the latest Greasmonkey. Many thanks in advance.
  13. I can vouch for the fact that they don't like water. Last September, when caching with Mr Dewdrop on the South Downs, I answered a call of nature and proved, beyond doubt, that the adder which quickly took evasion action did not enjoy that particularly watery experience!
  14. I had this problem and did a Google search for Firefox Memory leak and came up with loads of hits, of which these were the most useful: http://blog.skdev.net/2009/02/12/how-to-fi...y-leak-problem/ http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.ph...38&t=681245 (Cylogs August 29th post) http://www.freshmango.com/support/kb/offic...-load-solution/ They all did what they said, and the memory leak is much smaller on my pC. Have fun.
  15. Very sad news indeed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sorrowful time.
  16. After several months I have finally completed the Action Stations list. If anyone would like to suggest caches to be added to this list, then please contact me. Thanks.
  17. Edit the URL above and end up with this: Spoilersync Many thanks. That worked fine!
  18. UTM Grid Zones UTM28R covers a different group of islands - the Cannaries Many thanks for that. It clears it all up. Still, the numbers do work for my map - once I had corrected for the mistake I made (see above).
  19. Problem solved! The cache pages put the 'eastings' before the 'northings', unlike the normal way. So I can go on holiday to Mallorca after all!!! Might as well close this thread.
  20. I get a 'Page Not Found' when I click the above link. Anyone else had that problem? Are there alternative sites?
  21. Thanks for all the replies. It seems to have stopped. Probably the removal took time to be acknowledged. Or the emails sent before I removed it from my watchlist.
  22. Hi I have just got my map of Mallorca in preparation for a holiday there in September (Yes - I plan ahead!!). The co-ords for the grid on the map are stated to be UTM28R, whereas those on the cache pages are UTM31S. The numbers obviously do not match. Does anyone know of a quick way of converting from UTM28R to UTM31S? A quick Google search did not reveal anything. Many thanks in advance.
