  1. I understand that it was, but sending a notification AFTER the fact is really pointless, and just to show the same thing has happened for the Feb 29th, received the notification on the 1st March.
  2. Got a notification thru the App for the 02022020 souvenir, it seemed like a good idea to send our the notification, only problem was it was received on the 03 feb 2020, a bit late to do anything about it. I know what the problem is- it may have been sent out on 02 Feb local time by Groundspeak, but there are other places on the planet who are in different timezones that are ahead of Groundspeak time.....
  3. yes, i'm running both, i'll disable and see what happens thanks Greg
  4. Been using the new lists, quite like it. Recently when I select to map a list, shows a map of the caches in the list, but as soon as I zoom in or out it then reverts to all caches in the area, not just the list caches
  5. Came across a neat app for programming chirps, called ANT+ plugin sampler, it will download all the stored data including the serial number of the device used to program it. If you like you can even reprogram it with your cell phone. So what do you need, Can't speak for iPhones as the app is for android, but I used a Samsung Galaxy S6, I believe HTC also support ANT+ and will work
  6. I need a partner in Wisconsin to help me, I have the information already
  7. Your best bet is go to www.gps.org.nz and post in the forums there, more NZ geocachers visit there then here Greg
  8. Send me a message through my geocaching profile, include the GC number of the puzzles you need help with and i'll see if I can give you a hint or 2 Greg
  9. For quite a while i've had a PQ running once a week that gave me the results for my finds in the past few weeks. It would arrive in my email, with a winzip file attached containing the PQ. Anyway now the email arrives, but no attachment, telling me it's available for for download. It's not problem logging back in to GC and going to the right place to download it, but it's just so much simpler to click on the attachment that used to be in the email. So anyone got any idea on what's gone wrong and how to fix it?
  10. Hi there, I organizing a trek to go and find A Night of Terror in the Hakarimatas (GCZ3AX), at this stage looking at 4th December starting at 8pm Anyone else want to join in, email me gregmcc@ihug.co.nz or leave a message here
  11. I'm wanting to set up a new multi, but some of the WP's are quite near to existing traditional caches. The final point is well away from any others. My question is how close can I have the WP's to existing caches without the cache been declined for publishing?
  12. Stated out using a car gps, worked ok, but a bit awkward, using gps while carrying the printout of the cache you are looking for. Get a gps that has paperless geocaching, there are several types that do this. Been using a Colarado 400i for several months now, fantastic to use, cuts way down on the paperwork, but there are other ones that work just as well Greg
  13. All i've set out to do is provide a bit of help in solving some of these puzzles, rather than just dishing co-ords for the locations. In return maybe some others will provide a pointer or 2 on how to solve some of these. Hey it takes all the fun out of it if you are just given the answer, but like a lot of people out there some of the puzzles are quite challenging and we just don't have a clue, so a shove or push in the right direction goes a long way to people keeping their sanity.

  15. I'll start the ball rolling.............. The first one is CHERUB: Basic Training GC1GHPZ, I've got to the 1st waypoint, got the slip of paper with the substitution key (or part of) along with encrypted co-ords for the next way point, no clue on how to use the key or how to decode the co-ords, although I can make an educated guess at what some of the words are The 2nd one Alex Rider goes Geocaching GC1F92N, As a few of us at the meeting we have all figured the code, and arrived with a set of numbers which don't seem to mean too much, anyone care to fill us in on how we can apply these numbers to obtain the co-ords?
