  1. The behavior to the site has changed in the last day.  When following a link to a cache page or pocket query  link I used to be taken directly to the page in question or execute the download, and only have to log in once in a while.  Now every time I follow an email link or try to open a page from within GSAK I am forced to log in every time, and when I do log in I have to request the page over again in a new browser tab.  This is very tedious when dealing with a large number of email notifications.

Is this a new policy or has something broken with the web site?

  2. The same thing happend to me. It turned out to be a compatability mode problem. If you are using IE9 there should be a "Torn Page" icon at the top of the page in the address bar. Click the icon and the problem should go away. If you are using a different version of Internet Explorer, look up "compatability view" with the help function and go from there. See also "GC mis-reporting IE version" in this forum section.

  3. After reading the posts made since my last post, I did a little more experimenting. I had thought compatability view was turned on by a menu selection on the desktop icon. However, in IE9 it's toggled on and off with the "torn page" icon at the top of the page in the address bar. The mode selected, on or off, is "sticky". That is to say, it stays in the last selected mode when IE9 is closed and restarted later. So, thank you cerberus1, problem solved. The confusion over using copatability mode was mine.

  4. This afternoon (February 20th) some elements of cache pages stopped showing up. The yellow banner about phasing out support for older browsers started appearing over a week ago, but cache pages displayed normally until today. The missing elements include small map displays are blank, no logs are appearing, and clicking on "decrypt" does nothing. There may be other elements affected.

I tried to use compatability mode as a previous user suggested, but I got a message that "Compatability Mode is not available because internet explorer is part of windows". I tried using Chrome and everything appears to work normally, but IE9 is my default browser and I prefer to use it over Chrome. There are other issues with Chrome.

    IE 9.0.8112

    Windows Vista 64 Bit

All updates are downloaded and applied automatically.

  5. The update today took away the google street maps and satellite maps. The new maps are grossly inferior to the previous maps and satellite images. We need the maps back to what they were.
