  1. I think it would be good if one of the existing bridge categories expanded to include these bridges.
  2. I found a pontoon bridge...a pedestrian bridge floating across a branch of the Danube in Vienna..... is there any category that accepts these? I can't find it if there is.
  3. In addition to the map..I'm also not able to use the calendar when visiting a Waymark. And will they ever fix the East/West problem?
  4. I've been Waymarking for a few years now..and never explored geocaching...so, I still don't understand what a "virtual cache" is. Could someone explain it to me? I thought I would eventually figure it out in the context of conversations...but I haven't. All the conversations assume a knowledge of this term. Thanks.
  5. I just noticed this thread. I was the person who denied Dave Harris' submission...and I must say the whole story is not being told. The submission was denied because, although he did obviously do a lot of work researching the statue, he did not describe the figure sufficiently...life-sized? wearing, doing? etc. Artist? Date? Plinth? This category requires a full description. Not just a bio of the figure. This was explained. The other deadly failure.... mentioned in the declination was that quotations were in the Waymark without attribution. The submitter failed to make these changes and decided to continued to resubmit the Waymark without further changes. That is when I sent the matter to a vote..to explain to the category managers what was happening..and to stop the continual submission of the same Waymark with the (regrettable) threat by the submitter that he would just archive the submission and quit the category.
  6. Yayyyyyy...I finally got a featured Waymark.... thanks to whoever (whomever?) did the deed.
  7. LOL At this point, I'd settle for a Subway being my featured Waymark.
  8. I've been wondering about this too.... I've posted over 6,000 WMs now...and never had a featured one before. I don't think I'm that bad of a photographer.
  9. A lot of excellent work. Thanks and Congrats! Ed
  10. I think that's fine, my problem is when the Title gives no clue as to where it is. As Sao Paolo said... there can be 100 fountains on different Main Streets. I would just ask that reviewers enforce the rule if it is a rule in your category.
  11. I've noticed a lot of Waymarks lately do not have the City and or State in their title. Sometimes that makes sense... such as for City Halls. Some categories, I believe firehouses expressly forbid it. Many others require it..and for all others it has really been the practice by most to do so. I find that having the City and State (where appropriate) in the title is very helpful. I just had a discussion with another Waymarker who thinks that putting the City/State in the title makes it looks cluttered. Any thoughts?
  12. Very cool Doug! I once had a publisher contact me to use my photo of Ketchupsaurus.... for a book about Heinz. They were supposed to send me a copy when it was completed. Still waiting.
