-
im looking at north devon, down there next week for a few days but no where near any big trails.
-
i see one missing
The ability to flip the screen upside down for when using the clip as i find the screen is upside down when its clipped to my ruck sack.

i bought a set of 3000mah off the internet to find a few months later when tested they were only 1500 mah and only out lasted my duracells if used straight after being charged.
These days im just using my duracell 2650mah nimh batteries which will see me through the day and seem to be just as good as they were when i bought them a year ago. currently using a powerex c9000 charger with conditioner etc to charge them.

i would love to but will be on holiday, just will have to hold off till someone does it in august.

my daughter wants to do it but doesnt. she likes the finding of bouncy balls etc in caches but doesnt like the walk. if it was a case she sat there then you brought the caches to her it would suit her to the ground lol. there has been some series she has been mega keen to do, but recently she (now coming into her teens) cant be bothered or wants to sit there playing ds all day and then moans at the end of the day when thats all she has done.

ill put a message on the local facebook page and see if i can get anyone interested. me personally have more than enough.

Hannah you will have to send me details of that place, i might go down and do the area on my own one weekend just for the peace and quiet lol.
-
but im sure if they are so desperate for more magazines we could send them our old unwanted magazines, i.e. keep sending them so many magazines they wont ever ask for another lol.

funny devizes has been mentioned i was looking at that area the other day on a search. would anyone know of any good campsites down that way ?

I keep suffering from blisters. Correct size boots, worn in but usually start around 6 mile Mark and doesn't matter what brand or even if I've got a different size. Any advice?

pirate mania was too far for us, after spending a week driving for a living i dont want to drive for more than an hour and a bit to places, but we looked and looked and looked at it, if it had been closer we would have come.
Not sure what we are doing about the naughty weekend away one sam, footloose decided she would book the week off leading up to the event and back at work on that weekend, so it might just be me on my own, yet to decide, possibly closer to the event.
the sussex camp meet place does look good so we might try there, other places we are looking at is barnstaple in devon, and anywhere between hove and eastbourne too.
thank you so far for your input.

i keep it to 3/33 as channel 1 and 2 along with 5, 7 and 8 always seems to be busy around here. yet to hear another cacher on it.. however if im in the middle of nowhere i will tune into another groups conversation so anyone who see s you will hear the walkie talkie and think there are many more of you close by.. if not you are only a button press away from help.

another thumbs up to the map idea, we have been doing this with ours, kinda interesting to seeing their routes and shows my daughter where they are and how far away etc.

been thinking (whoooo i know lol), surely within the community we have a lot of computer coding type people who could get together and run the INATN's and keep it running? as i know nothing about coding apart from printing my name across the screen on a bbc basic's computer from the 80's i cant really offer to help. but im sure a few of you out there could help?

when you have a little one in tow i have to find caches that meet the following criteria.
1. is circular walk
2. is 5-10 miles, but preferably 6 miles
3. doesnt or hardly involves micros
4. is decent size caches and/that holds swag for the little one to look through (part of the fun when you are a kid)
5. that are close by (not a huge drive to the otherside of the country)
6. distance wise are no further than half a mile apart with some 524ft apart so she can run a head and start looking.
All my series have been set out in that way that a child will enjoy, with interesting containers, that dont make it a power trail, but kid friendly distances so they dont realise they have walked as far as they have.
The problem with non circular trails is the walk back afterwards, this is when the kids start the "im bored", "my legs hurt", "its too far" where as a circular your back at the start where you arrived and before they know it they have finished and probably not whinged or whined and off to get something to eat.

winter we carry a couple of twirl bars and nature valleys oat bars. summer time we just carry sainsburys flapjacks from the bakery and the nature valley oat bars. lots of cold water in summer, a flask of coffee in winter.
