    Help W/pdfs

Ok, 2 questions, I tried to look through the forums before I asked as I'm sure these have been covered. If so, forgive me but.... 1. Is there any way to "Batch" PDFs (convert a bunch of caches to pdfs at one time) or do I have to open a cache page, print the PDF, save it to the appropriate folder, then open a new cache page and do it all over for the next one, etc? 2. How do I get the hint to print in the PDF? After I decrypt and make a pdf, the pdf has the ENcrypted hint. My PDA died a gruesome death so I'm reverting to saving PDFs on a memory card so I can read it in the parking lot on my laptop. Unfortunatelly most trails don't have wireless access (the nerve of them!).
  8. What's an audit log and how do you view it?
  9. I'd worry more about your Google searches and ure EZPass usage!
  10. I currently have one each of Garmin Roads & Recreation (U.S. ver 2.01 - 1cd) and City Select (North America ver 4.0 w/the 4.01 update - 3cds) available. Email me. Best offer takes 'em home.
  11. So it's either Mobi or I have to use 2 diff pieces of software to accomplish the same thing? Either GSAK AND Cachemate OR Plucker AND Spinner Correct?
  12. Will these allow me to view the cache pages on my PDA the same way they look on line?
  13. Does it have any software on it? Can u sync to ure PC? If not, go to the Palm.com and download the Palm desktop to ure PC. That will get u started.
  14. Mobi died so I reloaded it w/version 5.0 Now when i try to load cache queries it says no pda exists yet the software is on my pda. When i click on .prc queries they open on my PC in Mobi's reader but will not xfer to the PDA. Mobi's help site refers u to a yahoo forum where many people seem to be having the same problem. Anyway, is there another reader available for PDA use?
  15. I dunno, from the descrip it sounds like a small unit but the pic shows what looks like a laptop with a dvd drive on the front. Found this in a search: Evidently what's shown in the pic is NOT the Trackstick. It actually looks more like a USB plug in memory stick. Oh well, on first look, I thought it might be something interesting.
  16. I have 2 older versions of Mapsource available.
  17. Great story! Kudos! People can take care of themselves. Domestic animals not so much. Reminds me of the time a cople of years ago when the GF and I were driving up the local 2 lane scenic route here in lower NY (rt 22). I see the guy in the suv in the opposite lane coming to a stop where there is no reason too. I couldn't see past the guy in front of me but I slow as I am used to deer in this area. The guy in front of me drives on and I see a med sized pug in the road in front of the oncoming traffic which is stopped. My GF immediately goes "Oh my god, that dog's gonna get hit." I was already stopped so I jump out figuring I'll shoo him off the road. As I go over (slowly) the dog sees me and starts waggin his tail and comes runnin over. In the meantime, all the traffic behind me is honking since there is really nothing in front of my jeep but I'm blocking the road. (screw them, I was thinking about the animal and didn't pull off the road). I reach down to take the dog by the collar but he gives me this look so I end up just scooping him up and taking him over to the Jeep on the other side of the road. As I walk over some lady comes runnin out of the yard of her $2 million + house all indignant yelling "That's my dog". Boy, did I give her a piece of my mind about being a responsible pet owner! Now every time we pass that spot the GF says we should stop and see if we can find the dog to take home!
  18. If u just want to play around with one, i could email u one. Since it's from my area it won't help u cache but at least it will give u something to play with. I think once u do u will purchase the premier membership. Email me.
  19. I have a practice BM at home to use. I seem to be leaning toward the silicone stuff. Gotta wait till it warms up though.
  20. Just another way to go.... I use Mobibooks to read the cache pages which I download from Geocaching with my premium membership (well worth the $$). I don't use GSAK (though it's a great program for downloading caches to the GPS)or any other program. Mobi is free so all u need to buy is the PDA. Granted Mobi is a bit of a memory hog but if all u use the pda for is caching u will have plenty of room. Just remember, if u trip and have the GPS in one hand and the PDA in the other, ure nose gets bashed! (true story)
  21. cr@p! I didn't realize that there was a list of supported devices! I see it now. It is quite limited. I thought it would work with any unit that had POIs. No wonder it wouldn't recognize my V. There goes 7 megs I can free up on my hard drive!
  22. Does anyone have any experience with the New POI downloader from Garmin? The way I read it is that we could take Geocache waypoints and instead of saving them as Waypoints which are limited to say 500 on a V, we would be able to save as many as we wanted as POIs. As long as we save the waypoint info as a "comma separated value" file you could use "POI Downloader" (free from Garmin) to make the conversion. Has anyone tried this? Does it work? Is it worth it? From Garmin:
  23. Try this: Safety device Under $200 for the base unit & one watch. Each watch is $50. Monitor up to 4 per base unit. Be able to tell if someone wanders more than 300' away.
