  1. I check this section once a week for visit info requests.

There is a web site Hike Arizona that you can register for info. Here it is.

http://hikearizona.com. later on I have some specific hikes that may interest you.

I live in Sierra Vista which is 90 miles SE of Tucson. Here are some of my favorite hikes with the Hike AZ URL.

    Huachuca Mountains

    Miller Peak via Miller Canyon

    General Info:

There may be snow in the mountains. Start early and give yourself plenty of time. You don’t want to be stuck in the mountains overnight.

Cell phone coverage is spotty in the mountains.

Suggest a paper map or trail guide.

    Stay on the trails.

If you encounter illegals just avoid contact. Yield the trail.

    Enjoy

  4. I would like to know if a 4GB SDHC Micro card would work in my Garmin 60csx GPS

I am currently using an 8GB micro SDHC in my Garmin GPSmap 60CSx without any problems so I imagine a 4GB version would also work fine. For my 5 yr old unit the latest firmware version is 4.0. Newer 60CSx units are compatible with the 4.20 version of firmware.

Thank you all....I have an older model also & it has 4.0 right now so I guess I am up to date....Again Thanks for all your responses

  5. I think you may need to change either the User points or Map points zoom settings like you mention, I forget now after not using my 60Cx for a while now. I want to say custom POIs are considered Map points, so adjust that zoom level to say maybe 2 mi. Hope I remembered this correctly.

edit: Hey guys, I just noticed you found our Grand Canyon virtual caches. Cool! Cheers!

I have both gps' set to the same one shows the other doesnt.....I know there is something I am not doing but havent figured it out yet

We love the Canyon.....We hope to move to Az soon

  6. I know this has been asked before but I cant find it....I want to see my custom poi's on the map page of my 60csx....unless I zoom in to like 800' they dont show up....I set up my new 60csx just like the old one which I can see the blue dots zoomed out to 12 miles....but not the new one

    What am I doing wrong

    Thanks

  7. We were flying yesterday & using our GPS' ..... We have one 60csx I bought 4yrs ago & a 60cx I got last yr ...The newer one had no problems getting satellites but the old one did....Also when they did aquire them on the satellite page the newer one had a little D in the bars as the old one didnt...I thought I had both set up the same

Anyone know why the newere one has better reception

    Thanks

  8. I just got a new 60cx & I am trying to get the POI's to show up on the map page.....I already have a 60csx & have that one set up to show POI's......I have gone to setup maps & set all the details the same on the cx as the older 60csx ....I do have declutter off & still no luck ...

    Any Ideas

    Thanks

  9. I updated but The GPS SW Version is still 0.00s ...I have tried twice any more Ideas Please

    Thanks

How long have you had your 60CSx? The ones coming out now(within the last few months) are using a different chipset so my instructions below would break the unit even further. The SirfIII type G software should work on 99% of 60CSx models out there.

I helped someone the other day with this issue, and gave similar instructions to Coggins above but it wouldn't work. I then had them download the chipset 3.00 software manually but it still wouldn't go. They ended up trying the 2.90 chispet software and finally got it to work. they were then able to use the webupdater and update to the most current chipset software without issue.

Thanks again Hogrod.....The unit in question was actually a friends GPS that couldnt get on the forums for some reason......Now I have a question...My 60CSX is probably 5 yrs or older & my GPS SW Version is 2.80s Which version is best to have

    Thanks again

  10. Sorry I reread your question and see that my response doesn't help. I guess I would back up all the content and try reloading the software. My thoughts are that there is a setting in preferences but I can't seem to find it.

    Team Taran

Thanks Team Taran......I think I will have to do what you said & reload the program ........Thanks for all you help I really appreciate it
