  1. Wow! I've been around for a year and a half now, and the only one on that list I have ever seen "in action" is 'The Fen Dweller'---I have some catching up to do!
  2. I am planning on caching in Northeastern NC (Outer Banks) and Southeastern VA in a couple weeks and have been researching the wildlife in those swampy areas. Even though I've done a lot of research, I'm confused on the differences between the cottonmouth, water moccasin, and the black water snake. Is the cottonmouth and water moccasin the same snake? Are black water snakes poisonous? Thanks, Jim The snakes listed by WARedBear are the only poisonous snakes in North America and the water moccasin and cottonmouth are two different names for the same snake. The moccasin, copperhead and rattler are all pit vipers and are readily recognized by their heart shaped heads. The coral snake on the other hand resembles a king snake with its alternating bands of red, yellow and black.
  3. I'd also be concerned with overhead wires. Some of those back road power/telephone lines droop pretty low, even if the cache area has ample room... You both raise very valid concerns. Not only is my vehicle 70 or so feet long but it's also 13.5 feet tall and not very kind to low hanging wires and small tree limbs. I think I would be a bit wary about taking anyone else's word unless they had actual experience with large vehicles. It was just an idea (albeit not a well thought out one). At any rate in case anyone was wondering my 3 hides (soon to be 4) under my name are all big truck/ camper friendly.
  4. Hey guys, I have a suggestion for a new attribute icon. How about one for us truck drivers. I know of several cachers who drive a truck for a living and it would be nice to know if a cache was big truck friendly. It can be fairly difficult to find a place to park a 70 ft. long motor vehicle and even more so a place to manuveur one of these beasts. It would be convenient to be able to glance at a cache page and know you could get in and out of a cache area in a truck with a minimum of hassle. Just a thought for you to consider. Thanks. Neos 1.
