  1. Tony just brought to my attention my profile shows my membership as 'member' not 'subscriber'? Sorry folks, will take this up with GC.com.
  2. Is anyone else having a problem pulling up subscriber only caches? I am a long-time subscriber and logged in, yet GC.com says I cannot see the page as I am not a subscriber?
  3. Just a quick note to say thanks to everyone expressed their congratulations on our reaching 500! Very kind of you all. Jon and Lesley
  4. Hi Rosie, I do hope you can make the Binfield Bash Cache on Saturday week? We have quite a few local cachers coming, and it would be great to meet you. It will be a very informal meeting at a local pub with no particular agenda, apart from having a good time! - and finding 4 event caches of course... Take a look at The Binfield Bank Holiday Cache Bash page The Dewdrops & walkergeoff
  5. Hey Wadders - what's it feel like?
  6. Well done form the Dewdrops! I spotted a photo of Ian on the GC frontpage banner this afternoon... famous at last!
  7. I do this via GSAK. Run and import a Pocket Query from GC.COM. Import the generated .GPX file into GSAK. Export the file from GSAK to Memory-map. Resulting image in Memory-Map will look something like this: Ridgeway The red flags are caches (clickable links to the GC web-page in Memory-Map), and the blue dots are trigs, imported from Chris n Maria's Geocaching Homepage. Have fun! Jon
  8. I feel SOOOO sorry for this man! Never mind... more for tomorrow.
  9. What worries me is that The Ridgeway ends at Avebury... Could be doing these for weeks!
  10. Congratulations Bren and Ruth. Upward on onward to the next 300! Jon and Lesley
  11. My belated congratulations to [walker] Geoff. We had a terrific day out together doing the Universally Challenged caches on Saturday. It was a pleasure to see his face when he found his 100th! Well done! Jon
  12. Get down to the Binfield Bank Holiday Cache Bash... That will help
  13. Quite agree. How many reports do we see with 'lots of dogwalkers about' in the log? Many I feel. Some sites of this kind have many, many visits by dogs taking their owners walking every day, yet a couple of visits a week by geocachers is taboo? Crazy! Oh yes I'll edit this to bring to your attention my signature...
  14. Oh go on then why don't you... Actually I think we have been to the Oracle around 5 times since we started caching, always parking on the *th floor! 1st page on GSAK looks so different now
  15. Thanks for this. It all works, but sometimes it is indeed fiddley. Why I wonder have Garmin assumed one wants the tracks joined when the GPSr is switched off though Thanks again.
  16. Now look what you lot have done... I've turned on my speakers to hear all these 'wonderful' tunes and getting a torrent of verbal abuse Mrs.D who's trying to watch the 2nd part of corry... The only one I like, which is a haunting one, is here: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...a5-2667efd70758 Nice one!
  17. Hey thanks guys for all your congrats! The blisters have receeded and I can now walk without limping Looking forward to a joint expedition with walkergeoff in a couple of weeks - when we we learn... Jon & Lesley
  18. Not quite sure if I understand you here... I don't do anything particular to save the tracks into the GPSr (Once downloaded from the GPSr I then delete all tracks) When I get back to home I simply plug the GPS into the PC and use the 'Import from GPS, tracks' button from within MM. What happens is that MM draws a straight line between a track finish point and the next track start point. Am I doing this wrong, or am I not doing something I should be? Jon
  19. Maybe we do a days caching. We plan our journey with say, three parking places, and set off with the GPSr to do a couple of caches at each. When back at the car, we turn the GPSr off (to maintain an acurate overall walking distance), and at the next stop, turn it back on. Now, when uploading these multiple tracks into MM from the GPSr, MM automatically joins each start and finish point with a straight line. Is there a way of just showing our 'walked' tracks in MM, without this annoying line being inserted? Thanks. Jon
  20. 10c) and when he drops it it breaks into little pieces like a Friday night beer glass...
