  1. interestingly enough... i have figured out that a quarter of the caches i have found were done on the way to or returning from dentist appointments... since i ride my bike, i have good chances to casually stop and pluck them up. but as for the rest of you... do any of you have frequent caching times that you never realized before?
  2. jeremy... just out of total curiosity... what were you thinking?
  3. PAGE 3! update... i found one of them a couple nights ago, and i am planning to go to the other three tomorrow. hopefully, i will have my top 20 knocked out by tomorrow night. hm... it has hit me that i have not entirely understood the concept of "top 20"... when i interpret the phrase, i think of the first 20 listed when you enter a zip code. i have cleared the first 20 of those... but the next 20 i havent done? thats purely because of distance.
  4. wasnt there a thread somewhere discussing how it really wasnt worth it? like it wastes way too much money to purchase it, then to activate it, etc?
  5. no no, dont cry... our disfunction-alism will keep us together.... we can make it through together!!! wow, am i turning this into my own personal replacement AS thread? wow...
  6. okay, so i have three dollars worth of pennies in a jones bottle upstairs... but what if i'm underaged? i am sixteen, dont have a credit card or whatnot, and have no way of paying online... my parents are misers (but the good kind), and wouldnt waste/want me wasting money on something that wouldnt really benefit me anyway. i agree with them.
  7. whoa! dude! thats one sweet trick! thanks, man!
  8. and what about polls? i've never tried the poll function on this board, but does it work? and if not, then cant we get rid of the green envelopes? edit: no polls, sorry
  9. aw, heck no! we're disfunctional! thats why we always talk to each other!
  10. PAGE 3! update... i found one of them a couple nights ago, and i am planning to go to the other three tomorrow. hopefully, i will have my top 20 knocked out by tomorrow night.
  11. so... where is this godly members only thread anyway? does a pair of invisi-forum glasses come with the three bucks?
  12. bah. thats all i have to say right now, is bah. okay, there's more. all i can say is this: for the love of (1) all things pure and holy (2) crap (3) sean connery, it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to constantly be on-topic all the time. i have tried it before, and it sickens me to no end. a person can not constantly talk about one thing, or the many tangents of it, for months or years on end. i have tried in many other forums, and it just comes to a point where you have to say something completely and utterly stupid. i have tried to start AS-style threads in those boards, (in fact, in the off-topic section), and they have been closed. i eventually ended up leaving the boards, because i just get bored with the dern things. nothing interests me anymore. i have said what i have needed to say, and read the replies i needed to see, and that was it. ... nothing to see here.... nope... life is all normal and on-topic here... hey look, another webpage! something more interesting! i dont know what this whole situation is coming to... i am not a premium member, i have no way to become a premium member, i have no desire to become a premium member, so i guess now AS is now out of my life. and with AS out of my life, the geocaching boards are less interesting to me, and soon, i'll just be heading off to another board to enjoy myself. oh, and by the way... bah. edit to remove a statement that didnt really add to my argument, and to say this: happy birthday to sean connery.
  13. in the future, i hope to be coming out with a series of puzzle caches with one theme. to get the co-ords, you have to follow a set of instructions given on the cache page in order to arrange and rearrange a set of poker chips with numbers and colors on them, which will read out the co-ords at the end.
  14. no, i will not perform for you! what am i your slave?!? oh. never mind.
  15. discreet - acting like you dont know anything when you know full well that someone knows that you know something, even though you try to appear to know nothing, which triggers someone else to believe that someone knows that you know something, and it continues so forth, ad infinitum, until someone just decides to call the police and get it over with.
  16. hm...strange... we have almost winter, winter, post-winter, and construction. come to think of it, i could think of a few good caches for in the wintertime... there's one christmas tree place by my house that would host a nice micro, or a multi... yeah... this might work afterall!
  17. well, i tell you what... it's coming to be the end of the summer, which means (for me at least) that its now time for all work, no play, no geocaching. i, as well as a few many other cachers, have to return to school or college and melt our brains out over how two plus two can be equal to five. caching families will be ruined, as the husband and wife return to work at separate places and make an attempt to be there "on time" once again... and then the worst part comes... winter. please, say it isnt true! i'm fairly new to geocaching, so i dont know what happens in the offseason, but tell me... is there an offseason? do people make special wintertime caches? is it possible to wintercache? or will we have to sit in hibernation for more than three months?
  18. i guess it kinda depends... are we looking at the colored things or the holes? that could make a difference... or are they all holes with colored objects behind them? i cant tell. my eyes are all poo.
  19. hm... only four on the nearest 20. three of them i just havent gone for yet, the last one i went to, but had no idea what i was looking for. (looked at cache page for ten seconds, then went to the cache site as an "im bored oh look" event)
  20. i thought you were supposed to slap people with red herrings... but yeah, it sounds like a decent idea... i guess... i mean, i am really demonic with the caches i plant (all one of them), but still... having a fake cache almost sounds... well, more demonic. its a good idea, until you're victimized.
  21. so what you're saying is that regular dishsoap wont have any scents that will cause problems?
  22. The sample I posted is at a resolution of 1 meter per pixel, which is the native resolution of the aerial photos (we store all our aerial photos at full resolution, full color, uncompressed). The 1:25,000 scale topo map that's overlaid on it was scanned by the USGS at 250 DPI, which means it has a native resolution of 2.54 meters per pixel. Since they need to be the same resolution when displayed on top of each other, I chose the better resolution of the photo in order to show the detail. As a result, the topo map is "blown up" by a factor of 2.54, which is why the image looks blocky and pixellated. okay... i was joking with the nes reference... but when i went there, the images were very pixeled.
  23. virtual cache - cache found in an x-box okay, that one kinda stunk.
  24. got a boy scout office anywhere near you? if you do, you can stock up on those pinewood derby cars... they're about $3.50 each, i think. you can make each one unique against the last one.
  25. at a recent mass garage sale shindig, i managed to buy up a bunch of rubber-sealed tupperware containers that would be caching. (i knew they would be, as i have found caches with the exact same types of containers.) however, with the whole problem of food in caches, other scents in caches, etc, i'm wondering if there's some way to clean the containers and remove their scents. any method or chemical to use or not use? or shouldnt i worry about the smells from the previous owners' contents?
