Hi Everyone,
I'm new to GPSR's, in fact I haven't got one yet, which is kind of the reason for my post, so please forgive me if this is a FAQ (frequently answered question).
After a bit of research, I decided to purchase a Magellan Sportrak. I did this over the net, as the local suppliers here (Australia) just can't compete with the price for one shipped out of the US. But I digress... I was in a local camping shop and got to talking to the sales guy, and he ended up asking what I paid, and said I should be careful as the Sportraks that he gets need to be configured for our hemisphere. My initial reaction was "bloody hell, maybe it won't turn out to be such a good deal after all!" But upon thinking alittle more about it, I came to the conclusion that he must be mistaken.
I mean, it's a GPSR for goodness sake, it's meant to travel. Isn't it?

Hi Slurpey,
I'm trying to purchase one from http://www.offroute.com. I don't see why they wouldn't ship to your part of the world.
The frustrating part is they are out of stock of the one I ordered (Magelan Sportrak). And in fact, are out of stock of ...
Garmin:
eTrex Legend
Map 76CS
Map 76c
Map 60C
Map 60CS
Magellan:
SporTrak
SporTrak Map
Meridian Gold.
I'm after something that will hold more than one route, and can upload POI from software, so I'm going to see if I can get an Etrex Venture. I would have liked the helix antena, though.
I guess the frustration I'm having now is that I started this process 4 weeks ago. I figured that was plenty of time to get my GPS in time for my planned trip, in just under 3 weeks from now. I can't however blame Offroute. Bryan, has at least kept me informed of the delays, and I have no doubt I'll eventually recieve my GPSr.
