  1. I have 2 challenges published. How do I get email notifications when someone accepts or completes the challenge?
  2. A couple of years ago, we had pirates, who logged their find and theft of the cache. I am glad they got bored and crawled back under their rock.
  3. A couple miles from my house there two unfortunate deaths within a half mile of track over the past two years. NOTHING to do with geocaching. Since then CN has stepped up enforcment around the tracks. There is no way you will get permission.
  4. If there is a pre-existing hole. Let's say the landowner dug a hole and nows not need that hole for anything. He may want you to put a PVC pipe in it to save him from having to fill it in himself.
  5. We have a permit camp next month. For the Scouts who have their permits already, there is a long hike. There will be geocaching included. I've volunteered myself to help with that. I will be preparing our troop to earn their badge. It should be fun. I am hoping that if a group chooses to hide a cache, there will be a leader who is a geocacher who will keep it up if the group doesn't. I think I will volunteer myself for the Cub pack as well. Mr Yuck, I was checking out the BSA badges, there is one for finger printing. I was wondering if it was for taking or giving fingerprints.
  6. I cannot log anything from Chrome, I can't sign-in from explorer. Seems to work well with Firefox. Change for the sake of change is not good.
  7. I know, I shouldn't feed the trolls. You are either rude or in bad need of some happy pills. I know, you just want to boost your number of posts. I feel like kwhart has a point, but I also feel like an emoticon might bring it into context (or out of your perceived snark levels). See below: How would I know and why would I care? OR How would I know and why would I care? and my emoticon to post like would be

  9. If cacher 1 and 2 are hunting together, and cacher 1 finds it, but cacher 2 was helping them, cacher 2 would get the co-FTf. Not necessarily it would be up to the person that made the FTF find to share it with Cacher number 2 it would be the right thing to do but just not a given. Scubasonic If the first person doesn't want the 2nd person to claim a co-FTF, then the 1st person should either not tell the 2nd he found it and hide the cache in his jacket until the 2nd person finally gives up and leaves. OR Find out the 2nd person's login and password and edit the log and delete all references to FTF, co-FTF or anything similar to this. The best thing about going for an FTF is meeting other cachers. This is the ONLY reason I will race out as a new cache is published.
  10. Last night I renewed my membership. It was going to expire May 15th. I renewed for a year. Logically that would mean I should be renewed up to May 15, 1012. After renewing my membership is good until April 22, 2012. That is 49 weeks, not a year. I have an email in to GC.com and I am awaiting a response. Check your renewal dates to make sure you are getting a full year's memebership for your $30.

    A TB for Canada

Please remember that Canada does not have states. We have provinces and territories. Just a little bit of a touchy subject. The Americans are always trying to conquer Canada and make us their next state. They forget to look at the map and see that we are still on top. Have a good trip out to the west coast.
  12. I'll tell you where the liars are............ It's election day in Canada.
  13. That is funny. I went back to look at the listing, right after my first reply and the listing has changed. It looks much better. I was going to offer some a more useful opinion that is not necessary now. As for numbers, don't worry about it. 'You hide it and they will come'.

  15. There was a lady in our area that hid her chocolate eggs outside the night before for her grandkids who were coming the next morning. When the children started searching, there were no eggs to be found. She was so upset, she phoned the newspaper who promply came down and took her picture and gathered the story. The story on Monday was "How could thieves steal Easter Eggs from kids". After many phone calls they determined it was probably a raccoon.
  16. This better not be an April Fool's joke. I already retrieved my historic GPS. And downloaded the new Historic Geocaching.com map.
  17. I've got it working. I had to move it to inventory from the Collection menu, even though it wasn't a collectible.

  19. No its not there. "Your Inventory No trackable items in your inventory."
  20. I clicked it only after nothing else seemed to be working. I unclicked it again it says "This is not collectible." I emailed gc.com so we'll see what happens.
  21. Is there a problem with these coins?
  22. I just activated a new coin. It shows "in the hands of the owner". I was reading here that I can dip the coin. It says there is suppose to be "visit" option, I don't see that. If I go to a cache page and post a note, I don't see the coin if order to drop it. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong.

  24. As stated in other posts, I would be wary of deleting the log. Just to spite you he may go back with reckless abandon and retrieve the container no matter who is around. The cache may get muggled. If he is a local I would email him and ask him to try again to sign it. If he is not local, I wouldn't worry about it.
