  1. I have run into a few that were in shopping centers. Never found any of them because I don't like the idea of snooping around in a store looking suspicious.

    Help

Many micros can be very difficult, especially for new cachers. I recommend you look for some larger caches first. Don't get discouraged if you do not find this one right away.
  3. Looks like they are trying to give Garmin a a run for their money. I'm still gonna stick with Garmin though. I sure would not want to have to calibrate the compass all day. I had to calibrate my Colorado 400T a few times a week but my new 62ST I have only claibrated it once and that was just to see the difference.
  4. That is exactly what I do. I update GSAK with each PQ I get to keep the caches up-to-date. I did not used to do this and ended up searching for disabled or archived caches a few time. In my opinion there is no need to delete geocaches. Once you log them as found you don't see them unless you change to SHOW FOUND. At least once a week I delete the GPX file and the geocaches found file and reload the GPX with GSAK. If I am going someplace outside my area then I will just drag and drop a PQ for that area and then delete when I am done with that area. I don't put these area PQs in GSAK.
  5. Thanks for the info Clyde, I thought it was for everyone. Guess I will be paying 20 bucks for my upgrade but it is one of the best 20 buck I ever spent. Well I did have to pay Germany 30 Deutschmarks which was abouit 20 bucks at the time so they would let marry my wife. That 20 bucks was well spent also.
  6. Maybe you could take a little walk and fix that. OSM relies on regular people to mark the trails.
  7. The swag where I live, if there is any at all is just junk and many times I find old candy. Who in their right mind would eat anything they find in a cache? Plus candy and other food items just attract insects.
  8. Nice looking coin - haven't bought too many coins recently but might be interested in one of these. ** You might want to edit out the tracking number in that photo as someone could activate it. Yup..I was wondering if that was a real tracking number and it sure enough is. I was nice though and did not activate it.
  9. I second that on the GPSMAP 62. I've had my 62st for about two weeks now and the accuracy is incredible. In places that my Colorado 400T would get 3 bars such as in thickly wooden hilly areas the 62 keeps five bars. Another good place to get Open Street Maps is http://openmtbmap.org/download/#map-downloads-by-gwdg and velomap.org . You can download separate EU countries or for 20 Euro you get all of Europe. I chose to get all of Europe.
  10. That is great. You must have forgotten to say VOILA the first time. Remember though....if you are away from your home location and you want to look up caches close to where you currently are you will need to switch it back to My GPS Devices. Otherwise, it will show you the caches near your home location. The regular MAPS App on the iPhone has no effect on the Geocaching App maps. They are completely separate.
  11. My caches are Super Premium Only caches. The coordinates are even unknown to me. I have never had a problem with them being stolen.
  12. Turn your iphone off all the way and then start it back up.
  13. Would it be possible to have one created or is this something that GS would not be interested in? I think a lot of people would like it.
  14. Well I am glad to know that I am not the only one. I hope they fix this soon.
  15. Is there a trackable pet icon like the trackable tattoo icon? I put a TB on my dog Sarge the Wunderlab so that I can track the caches he finds with me and so others can discover him. I also put my contact info in the description so in case we get separated maybe there is a chance someone will look up the trackable and call me. The TB is here: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=3938009 I have a trackable tattoo which GS swapped the regular TB icon with the Human Trackable icon - Does anyone know if they will do the same for pets and if not do you think it is a good idea to recommend to GS?
  16. Question is have you hidden any unfound geocaches in your GPSr in hopes of finding them later? If so then I am afraid you are in serious danger of falling off the wagon. Seek help soon. Do you know any clergy in your area?
  17. 1. Open the Geocaching App 2. At the top left hand corner tap on MENU 3. Tap SETTINGS 4. Look for the tab that says MY LOCATION. It should be the second one down. (Right now yours says My Home Location) 5. Tap on where it says My Home Location 6. Tap My Device GPS 7. In the upper right hand corner tap on CLOSE 8. Say the word VOILA!! Make sure you say VOILA or it won't work!
  18. Hey Baack40...did you know you can put other people's trackables on your watchlist? They way when they move you get an email notification. I like watching some of the cooler ones I have found move also.
  19. With visited you drop and retrieve the TB in one go: you dip the trackable in the cache so to speak. For what use you're asking? Really no idea! No need to Drop and Retrieve it. In the dropdown box there is an option for visit. This was added about a year ago and I SURE AM GLAD!! It really saves time. that's not what they said...read their reply again ok.....i read it again....now what should I do?
  20. Am I the only person getting the Error 500 page when logging a trackable? This has been going on for about a week now and happens everytime I log a TB or GC I found. The log is still going through but I have to hit the back button and then refresh the page to verify it.
  21. Yup, change your setting to My GPS Device. After that there is never a need to change it back to My Home Location. Who are you gonna love forever mpilchfmaily or me???
  22. Congratulations but you know you just jinxed yourself right?

  24. There is a lot of great info regarding the Garmin Oregon and Montana here: http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/ You might want to check it out sometime.
  25. Ok....if I find any of your bugs I will wait 2 or 3 days before logging them. I'll be visiting Iowa in Jan. Are there any near Keokuk?
